Petunia Pig


PETUNIA PIG wall plaque

  This rare find is a 4.5" wide by 5.5" tall lacquered wooden wall plaque showing Petunia Pig merrily walking along, looking over her left shoulder while she smiles.  She wears a lavender dress with white trim and red bows in her pig tails.  The caption beneath her name says This is Petunia, Porky's friend.  This item was manufactured during the early 1940s as part of a set of wall plaques that also included Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Sniffles, The Bookworm, and Little Hoot.  Petunia is in virtually perfect condition.

PETUNIA PIG beanie doll -- June

  This is a 6.5" plush beanbag doll of Petunia Pig, who is shown wearing a red skirt, a yellow blouse, and yellow ribbons in her black yarn pigtails.  She wears a blue mortarboard with a yellow tassel and holds a white scrolled diploma in her left hand.  This doll is in mint condition and it retains its original manufacturer's label and its original cardboard hang tag.  Petunia Pig was manufactured in 1999 for distribution in the Warner Brothers Studio Stores.  Originally, she was part of a 12-item set, with each character representing a different month of the year.  Celebrating graduations, Petunia is the June beanie in the set.

PETUNIA PIG Christmas ornament

  This is a 4" blown-plastic Christmas ornament showing Petunia Pig happily dancing along while carrying a red Christmas gift with white string over her left hand.  She has black string hair, red bows in her hair, a white blouse with red designs on it, an a red skirt.  This ornament is in mint, unused condition and it remains sealed inside of its original packaging.  The cardboard mounting card has colorful graphics showing Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Petunia Pig, Tweety, and Sylvester in front of their Christmas tree.  Petunia Pig was manufactured in 1975 by Ortex as part of a larger collection of Looney Tunes character ornaments.  She retains her original price sticker, showing that she once cost $0.87 at Memco.

PETUNIA PIG blown plastic Christmas ornament

  This is a 3.5" blown plastic Christmas ornament showing a loping Petunia Pig with a green wreath slung over her outstretched right hand.  She wears red bows in her hair and a red dress with white lace trim.  This ornament is in mint condition and it has never been removed from its original packaging.  The colorful cardboard header card shows Porky Pig waving with three balloons, Speedy Gonzales with a candy cane, Petunia Pig with a toy sack, the Warner Brothers shield, Daffy Duck with a strand of lights, Merlin the Magical Mouse with a wreath, and an angry Yosemite Sam.  Petunia Pig was manufactured in 1978 by Liberty Bell Christmas as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes character ornaments.  She originally sold for $0.99 at Rickel's hardware stores.

PETUNIA PIG refrigerator magnet

  This is a 1.75x1.25" rubber refrigerator magnet showing Petunia Pig hopping (or perhaps dancing) against a lime green backdrop.  She has purple bows in her pigtails and wears a purple dress.  This item is in VG condition.  It was manufactured in 1979 as part of a larger collection of Looney Tunes character refrigerator magnets, but the copyright information does not indicate who made it.

PETUNIA PIG wooden figure

  This rare item is a 4.75" wooden figure of Petunia Pig, who is shown wearing a light blue dress with a white collar and white buttons, and black shoes.  She has two balls comprising her arms and hands and has a painted face.  Although this item does not look much like Petunia, it is a fully-licensed product that was licensed by Leon Schlesinger.  Underneath Petunia's right foot, her original copyright sticker remains.  She was manufactured by Borgfeldt sometime during the early 1940s along with other Looney Tunes character wooden figures.  Petunia is in near mint condition, with some smudging of her face paint being her only flaw.

PETUNIA PIG superhero PVC figure

  This is a 2.5" PVC figure showing Petunia Pig wearing pink bows in her hair and a pink one-piece bathing suit.  She comes with a plastic snap-on superhero costume that resembles Wonder Woman's outfit.  This item is in mint, unused condition and it remains sealed inside of its original packaging.  The package comes with a coloring story book.  Petunia Pig was manufactured in 1991 for distribution by McDonald's fast food restaurants as a promotional giveaway.  She had Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil, and Daffy Duck counterparts.

PETUNIA PIG liquor decanter

  This is a 5" ceramic liquor (Amaretto) decanter showing Petunia Pig standing on a grassy area with her hands clasped together behind her back.  She has a shy expression on her face and is shown looking off toward her left side and is wearing a pink dress.  This item is in mint, unused condition and it retains most of its original contents.  Petunia comes with her original cardboard hang tag, her original box, and her original importation and taxation stickers.  She was manufactured in Italy by Alpa in 1975 as part of a larger set of Looney Tunes character liquor decanters.

PETUNIA PIG green Shaw / American Pottery figurine

  This is a 5.5" ceramic figurine showing Petunia Pig standing, holding the edges of her green dress, and looking off toward her right side.  This piece was manufactured during the 1940s by Shaw / American Pottery as part of a larger collection of Looney Tunes character figures, vases, and planters.  Petunia Pig is in mint condition and is the least common of three variations made of her by the company.

  This is a 5.25" ceramic figurine showing Petunia Pig standing, holding the edges of her dress, and looking over her right shoulder.  She is in mint condition and was manufactured during the 1940s by Shaw / American Pottery.  This blue version is the most common of three variations of Petunia Pig that the company made at that time.

  This is a 5.25" ceramic figurine showing Petunia Pig standing, holding the edges of her pink dress, and looking over her right shoulder.  She is in mint condition and was manufactured during the 1940s by Shaw / American Pottery.  This pink version is one of three variations of the Petunia Pig figurine that the company made at that time.

PETUNIA PIG planter

  This is a 5.5" ceramic planter showing Petunia Pig standing and looking upward.  She wears a pastel pink hat and a matching ruffled blouse.  She stands next to a white box with swirling vertical lines, and that box is the portion of this item that may be used to hold the plant.  Petunia Pig is in mint condition.  She probably dates to the 1940s and there is no indication anywhere on her as to who made her.

PETUNIA PIG lamp

  This beautiful, very rare find is a 6.75" (from the base of the lamp to the top of Petunia's head) solid chalk (or plaster) lamp of Petunia Pig, who is shown walking on a grassy area on a white brick pathway as she looks over her right shoulder.  She wears a blue dress with a white stripe across the middle.  The lamp has a Porky Pig counterpart, and it works just fine.  It probably dates to the 1940s and there is no indication anywhere on the item as to who made it.  Petunia is in NM to NM+ condition and the item is so rare that the one I own is the only one I've ever seen.

PETUNIA PIG bisque bell

  This is a 4.25" bisque bell showing Petunia Pig sitting on a grassy area with her hands on her lap.  She wears rust-colored bows in her pig tails and a lavender dress with a white collar.  The bell is off-white in color with one orange, one lavender, and one black stripe.  It is in mint condition.  Petunia was manufactured in 1979 by Price as part of a 10-item Looney Tunes character bisque bell set.

PETUNIA PIG bisque figurine

  This is a 5" bisque figurine showing Petunia Pig coyly standing on a grassy area, arms behind her back, looking off toward her left side.  She wears rust-colored bows in her pig tails as well as a lavender dress with a white collar. The figurine is in NM+ condition and it retains its original gold foil manufacturer's sticker.  Petunia was manufactured in 1979 by Price as part of a 10-item Looney Tunes character bisque bell set.

PETUNIA PIG squeak toy

  This is a 4.5" latex squeak toy showing Petunia Pig standing with both arms bent akimbo on her hips.  She wears a lavender dress and has matching bows in her black pigtails.  This item is in mint condition and it has never been removed from its original packaging.  The cardboard header card has colorful graphics showing a horizontal red Looney Tunes banner with Tweety, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Tasmanian Devil poking through it.  Petunia Pig was manufactured by Vo-Toys in 1992 as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes character latex dog toys.

PETUNIA PIG collector's glass

  This is a 6.25" thin (i.e., Federal-style) collector's glass of Petunia Pig, who is shown standing coyly in her blue dress with both arms behind her back.  The glass has white lettering and it is in mint condition.  It was released in 1973 as part of a large Looney Tunes character set of Pepsi Collector's Series glasses.

PETUNIA PIG Dell Four Color comic #463

  This is Dell Four Color comic #463 featuring Petunia Pig, originally released in 1953 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Petunia Pig sitting on the ground, eating from a blue box of chocolates, and reading her Porky Pig comic book.  Behind her, Porky Pig chases a butterfly with a large net . . . just as the butterfly is about to land on a red flower in Petunia's blue hat.  This comic is in VG+ condition, with all interior pages being present and most of them having a crease in them.  The cover has moderate wear (mostly along the upper edge) and the spine has light wear and minor crinkling.

PETUNIA PIG plastic refrigerator magnet

  This is a 2.75" plastic refrigerator magnet showing Petunia Pig coyly holding a pink lollipop to her mouth with her right hand as she holds a sack of colorful candies in her lowered left hand.  She wears orange bows in her hair and a blue dress with yellow trim.  This item is in NM+ condition.  It was manufactured in 1988 by Arjon as part of a larger set of Looney Tunes refrigerator magnets.

PETUNIA PIG handkerchief

  This is a 9.75" square cotton cloth handkerchief showing Petunia Pig coyly looking over her left shoulder as she poses in front of a large crowd near a pair of criss-crossed search lights.  She wears an orange flower and two orange bows in her hair, and a turquoise-and-white checked dress.  This item was copyrighted by Leon Schlesinger and it probably dates to the later 1930s.  Along with a Porky Pig counterpart, this item is among the oldest in my collection.  It is in NM+ condition.  There is no indication on the item regarding who made it.

PETUNIA PIG animation cell 

  Purchased at a small toy show in Dundalk, MD in 2010 for a steal of a price ($15), this is a matted animation cel of Petunia Pig. Her image is 3.25" tall and shows her leaning forward, wearing a red dress with yellow trim. The cel is in mint condition and probably dates to the 1940s.

PETUNIA PIG & PORKY PIG poster -- flirting

  This is a framed 36x24" wall poster showing Porky Pig and Petunia Pig flirting with one another on a patch of grass.   Porky holds three pink flowers in his left hand, which he presumably is planning to give to Petunia.  She stands on the left in her purple dress, with both hands behind her back.  Porky wears a blue jacket and a red bowtie.  The poster has a yellow background.  On back, there is a complete storyboard as well.  This poster was released as part of a set of Looney Tunes character posters in 1980.  It is in NM to NM+ condition.

PETUNIA PIG & PORKY PIG interaction glass

  This is a 6.25" Brockway-style collector's interaction glass featuring Petunia and Porky Pig.  Petunia angrily wields a paint brush and glares at Porky, who is mowing the lawn so casually that he doesn't even realize that he has blown grass clippings onto Petunia's newly-painted birdbath.  This item is in nearly perfect condition.  It was released in 1976 as part of the Looney Tunes character Pepsi Collector's Series.
