PORKY PIG Gold Key comic #23

  This is Gold Key comic #23 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in April of 1969 at a cost of 15 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig looking down in dismay at his green skis, which now have been cut into three pieces thanks to his nephew, Cicero, who just sledded over them.  This comic is in EX+ to NM- condition, with all interior pages being present and in nice condition.  The cover has minor wear and light crinkling.

PORKY PIG Gold Key comic #25

  This is Gold Key comic #25 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in August of 1969 at a cost of 15 cents.  The cover shows Petunia Pig wielding a fly swatter to kill six flies that have landed on top of her fresh-baked pie while fisherman Porky Pig watches in fear, trying to stop her from killing his bait.  The comic is in VG condition, with all interior pages being present, and about half of them having a crease.  The cover has light-to-moderate wear, as does the spine.

PORKY PIG Gold Key comic #26

  This is Gold Key comic #26 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in October of 1969 at a cost of 15 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig holding a strawberry ice cream and looking at it in surprise now that Cicero has hit a "vanilla scoop" on top of it, in the form of an errantly-hit tennis ball.  This comic is in Fair condition, with all interior pages being present.  The first few and the last page have significant wear and small tears on the edges, and one other page is half missing.  The cover has moderate wear, a piece of masking tape on it, and some tearing.  The spine also has wear and tears along the staples.

  This is Gold Key comic #32 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in October of 1970 at a cost of 15 cents.  The cover shows Cicero juggling eggs . . . directly onto the top of Porky Pig's head, much to Porky's consternation.  The comic is in NM- condition, with light cover and spine wear being its only flaw.

  This is Gold Key comic #81 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in May of 1978 at a cost of 35 cents.  The cover shows Bugs Bunny chopping down a blue tree while Porky chops down a purple tree, and the two trees collide as they fall.  The comic is in NM- condition, with all interior pages being present and in nice condition.  The cover has light wear and the spine has light wear and minor crinkling.

  This is Whitman comic #80 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in March of 1979 at a cost of 35 cents.  The cover shows a brown puppy angrily complaining to his master, Porky Pig, that he cannot get into his dog house during a rainstorm because Bugs Bunny has popped out of his rabbit hole . . . which is located inside of the dog house.  The comic is in EX+ to NM- condition, with all interior pages being present and in nice condition.  The cover has light wear and a dog-eared corner, and the spine has light-to-moderate wear.

  This is Whitman comic #98 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in 1980 (no month specified) at a cost of 40 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig painting grease onto the purple pole of a tall birdhouse while nearby two cats, wanting the two yellow birds inside of the birdhouse, watch him quizzically.  This comic is in NM+ condition.

  This is Whitman comic #103 from the Porky Pig series, originally released in 1981 (no month specified) at a cost of 50 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig sitting on an orange stool, playing a yellow tuba that causes Cicero's blue-and-yellow toy fan to spin, much to Cicero's glee.  The comic is in NM to NM+ condition, with light spine wear being its only flaw.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #112 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story Porky Pig's Adventure in Gopher Gulch, originally released in 1946 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig as an Indian chief, dancing in front of three teepees and wielding a tomahawk in his right hand.  The comic is in VG to VG+ condition, with all interior pages being present.  Most are in nice condition, although a few of them have edge wear. The cover has light wear and some creasing, and the spine has moderate wear and crinkling on it.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #156 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story Porky Pig and the Phantom, originally released in 1947 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig as a cowboy who is brandishing a rifle at night, while a phantom enemy absconds into the full moon.  The comic is in Fair condition, with all interior pages being present but several of them having a piece missing out of the top corner.  The cover has light wear, and the spine has considerable wear, crinkling, and one small piece missing on the lower end.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #182 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story Ever-Never Land, originally released in 1948 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig as a big game hunter, shining his light on an unsuspecting bird while, behind him, Petunia Pig's pigtails raise in the air in fright.  The comic is in Good+ condition, with all interior pages being present. The cover and spine have only light wear.  The comic's main problem is some light mildewing on the interior pages that has been resistant to removal.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #241 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story Mighty Hunter, originally released in 1949 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig dressed as a Pilgrim brandishing a blunderbuss while a nearby Indian brave has shot an arrow into his hat.  The comic is in EX condition, with all interior pages being present and in nice condition.  The cover has light-to-moderate wear and some creases, and the spine has moderate wear as well.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #260 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story Hero of the Wild West, originally released in 1949 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Petunia Pig dressed like Calamity Jane, standing in fear behind Porky Pig, who is shown as an angry cowboy brandishing a grey pistol.  This comic is in EX condition, with all interior pages being present and generally in nice condition (one has a dog-eared corner).  The cover has light wear and the name Bog Guttman written on it in pencil.  The spine has light wear and crinkling.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #284 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story The Kingdom of Nowhere, originally released in 1950 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows a knight riding away on horseback while Sylvester helps Porky Pig to get up off of the ground, having been injured in a joust with the knight.  The comic is in EX- condition, with all interior pages being present and generally in nice condition.  The cover has light-to-moderate wear and some creasing, along with a name written i pencil above Sylvester's tail.   This is Dell Four Color comic #342 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story The Lucky Peppermint Mine, originally released in July and August of 1951 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Bugs Bunny as a miner who is pushing a green mining cart that is filled with peppermint sticks, as Porky Pig, also a miner, sits on the edge of the cart holding a pickaxe and looks back at Bugs.  The comic is in EX condition, with all interior pages being present and in nice condition.  The cover has light wear; the back cover has light wear and one sizable crease; and the spine has light-to-moderate wear.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #370 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story Trouble in the Big Trees, originally released in January and February of 1952 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig as a tree doctor, listening to a tree's trunk through his stethoscope as a woodpecker pecks holes in the trunk.  This comic is in VG+ to EX- condition, with all interior pages being present and all but one being in nice condition (the one has a large dog-eared corner).  The cover has light-to-moderate wear and some creasing, and the spine has moderate wear.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #385 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story The Isle of Missing Ships, originally released in March and April of 1952 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Sylvester yawning as he helms the wooden steering wheel of a ship wile Porky Pig sleeps on deck against a yellow mast . . . just as two marauders board the ship beside them.  This comic is in Fair condition, with all interior pages being present.  About half of them have a small piece missing from the upper corner.  The cover has considerable wear and creasing, and the spine has considerable wear and several small tears.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #399 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story The Lost Gold Mine, originally released in May and June of 1952 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig sitting backwards on the rear end of a mule while Cicero holds the reins and peers through a telescope that he has positioned between the mule's ears.  The comic is in VG+ condition, with all interior pages being present and in nice condition.  The cover has light wear and a few tiny tears on the edge, and the spine has moderate wear, a few small tears, and some rolling.

  This is Dell Four Color comic #426 featuring Porky Pig in the cover story The Scalawag Leprechaun, originally released in September and October of 1952 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig dressed in blue as a messenger boy.  He holds the gold chain of an airborne leprechaun who tries to punch him.  This comic is in NM- condition, with light cover and spine wear being its only flaws.

PORKY PIG salt and pepper shakers

  This is a pair of 5" ceramic salt and pepper shakers showing Porky Pig wearing a pastel blue neckerchief and matching pants.  He holds both arms behind his back.  These items probably date to the 1950s, and there is no indication anywhere on them as to who made them.  They are both free of damage and in NM+ condition.

PORKY PIG figural pencil sharpener

  This is a 4.25" plastic pencil sharpener showing Porky Pig standing atop a black rectangular box.  The side of the box has the opening for the sharpener, where the pencil may be inserted.  He holds his left hand behind his back while waving with his right hand.  Porky wears a grey-and-blue baseball cap, a pink bowtie, and a blue jacket.  He is in NM to NM+ condition, with a few tiny specks of minor paint loss.  Porky was manufactured in 1977, but his copyright information does not indicate who made him.  This item has a Bugs Bunny counterpart, too.

PORKY PIG squeaking doll

  This rare find is an 11.5" stuffed cloth doll of Porky Pig, who has a firm, molded face and pie-style eyes.  He wears a red felt bowtie and a blue felt jacket, and is shown with both arms raised as if in a vaudeville singing pose.  When Porky's chest is squeezed, he gives off a shrill, hearty squeaking sound.  This doll probably dates to the later 1930s or earlier 1940s, and there is no indication anywhere on it as to who made it.  Porky has several light surface stains on him, but no damage anywhere, leaving him in VG+ condition.

PORKY PIG cereal bowl

  This is an 8" pink plastic child's cereal bowl showing Porky Pig with flasher googly eyes.  His rotund body serves as the bowl, with his arms resting by the bowl's sides.  This item is in EX+ condition, with the tip of Porky's left foot having been chipped off.  It was manufactured by Eagle sometime during the 1950s.

PORKY PIG squeak toy

  This is a 3.75" latex squeak toy showing Porky Pig wearing a blue jacket and tugging happily on his red bowtie with both hands.  This item is in mint condition and it remains sealed inside of its original package.  The cardboard header card has colorful graphics showing a sideways red Looney Tunes banner with Tweety sitting on it as Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Tasmanian Devil pop through it.  Porky was manufactured by Vo-Toys in 1992.

PORKY PIG vinyl refrigerator magnet

  This is a 1.75x1.25" vinyl refrigerator magnet showing Porky Pig prancing along, looking over his right shoulder.  He wears a red bowtie and a black jacket.  This item was manufactured in 1979 (no indication on the item regarding who made it) as part of an 18-item Looney Tunes character vinyl refrigerator magnet set.  Porky has minor side wear, leaving him in near mint condition.

PORKY PIG cup

  This is a 5.75" cream-colored plastic cup showing Porky Pig waving with his left hand while holding his right hand behind his back.  He wears yellow gloves, a yellow bowtie, and a blue jacket.  This cup was released in 1979 as part of a six-item Pepsi Collector Series set of Looney Tunes character cups.  Porky is in near mint condition, with a few small spots of minor wear on the plastic's litho.

PORKY PIG drum major wall hanging

  This is a 9.25" pressed cardboard wall hanging showing Porky Pig strutting along as a drum major.  The picture has blue scalloped edges.  Porky is shown wearing a pink hat bearing his name on it in blue lettering, a blue bowtie, and a pink jacket, while holding a pink baton in his extended right hand.  This item probably dates to the 1940s.  It is a licensed product but there is no indication on the item regarding who made it.  Porky is in VG condition, with light surface wear and light spotting on the back side.

  This is a 5.75" vinyl squeak toy showing Porky Pig happily waving with his right arm while holding his left arm behind his back.  He wears a pale pink baseball cap, a light blue jacket, and a pastel orange bowtie.  This item is in EX+ condition, with a few small spots of minor paint loss on him.  When squeezed, Porky gives off a shrill squeaking sound.  He was manufactured by Reliance Products in 1978 along with a Tweety counterpart.

  This is a 5.75" heavy-duty composition planter showing Porky Pig standing beside a round wooden fence.  He waves his blue-and-orange baseball cap in the air with his right hand while holding his left hand behind his back.  This item is in NM to NM+ condition, with a few small spots of minor paint loss being its only flaw.  Porky was manufactured by Holiday Fair in 1977 along with Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, and Tweety counterparts.

  This is an 11.5" cardboard lamp showing Porky Pig waving his two-tone blue baseball cap with his right hand.  Above him the original lampshade shows Pepe LePew smelling a blue flower, Yosemite Sam running with his pistols blaring, Speedy Gonzales happily greeting Sylvester, who leans forward to look at him, Sylvester Junior leaning toward Sylvester from behind, Tweety flying overhead, Bugs Bunny holding a partly-eaten carrot, Daffy Duck holding a lavender washtub full of carrots, Wile E Coyote licking his chops and wielding a carving knife, and Road Runner watching Wile E.  The lamp is in NM+ and working condition; the shade is in Good condition, with some light spotting and a few tears.  This item was manufactured sometime during the 1960s and there is no indication anywhere on it as to who made it.

PORKY PIG handkerchief

  This is a 9.75" square cotton cloth handkerchief showing Porky Pig in the cartoon Robinson Crusoe Porky.  He is shown wearing a furry orange safari outfit as he and his black dog trace footprints in the sand along a beach under the shade of a yellow straw umbrella.  This item was copyrighted by Leon Schlesinger and it probably dates to the later 1930s.  It is in NM+ condition and there is no indication anywhere on the item as to who made it.  Along with a Petunia Pig counterpart, this item is one of the oldest in my collection.

PORKY PIG jointed plastic figure

  This is a 2.75" jointed plastic figure of Porky Pig, who is shown wearing a purple jacket and a yellow bowtie, holding a purple ballcap in his outstretched right hand.  This item is in NM to NM+ condition.  It probably dates to the 1960s and there is no indication anywhere on it as to who made it.

PORKY PIG glow picture

  This is a 10.5x8.5" framed picture of Porky Pig, who has attached a yellow mirror to a tree trunk so that he can help get his yellow bowtie straightened out.  When exposed to a bright light and then placed into a dark room, this picture glows in the dark.  It dates to the later 1940s and was manufactured as part of a set of Looney Tunes character glow pictures.  This one is in NM to NM+ condition, and all these years later, it still glows in the dark!

  This is a 5" pair of ceramic salt and pepper shakers showing Porky Pig dressed as a cowboy.  He wears a light blue neckerchief, a cream-colored vest with dark maroon rivets, and raspberry-colored overalls.  One of these shakers is in mint condition, and the other has a very small chip on the underside of Porky's right foot, leaving it in EX+ condition.  These items were manufactured sometime during the 1950s and there is no indication anywhere on them as to who made them.

PORKY PIG composition bank

  This is a 7" composition bank showing Porky Pig standing on a white oval base that has orange "grass" and one white and one yellow flower by his feet.  He holds his red, white, and blue ballcap in the air with his right hand.  This bank is in NM+ condition and it retains its original stopper.  Originally, it was sold as a souvenir in Marriott's Great America amusement park gift shops in 1975.  According to the original price sticker that remains intact on the underside of the bank, Porky originally cost $3.

PORKY PIG trophy

  This is a 5" plastic trophy showing Porky Pig waving a red-and-blue baseball cap with his left hand, while wearing a red bowtie and a blue jacket.  His name appears in large black lettering on the metallic face plate that appears on the front of the trophy's black rectangular base.  Porky was manufactured by Aviva in 1971, and he retains his original red felt protective undercovering and his original gold foil copyright sticker.  He is in nearly perfect condition.

PORKY PIG satchel

  This is a 7.75x12" vinyl satchel, principally pink in color with white edging and a white plastic handle, featuring Porky Pig.  He is shown in the foreground of a farm scene, with a red-and-white barn and matching silos behind him, as he waves his red-and-white ballcap in the air with his right hand.  Porky wears yellow gloves, a red bowtie, and a white jacket.  This item was manufactured by United in 1960.  It is in EX condition, with a few small splits in the vinyl on the back side, and some light staining there along the edges.

PORKY PIG popcorn plastic wall hanging

  This is a 20" popcorn plastic wall hanging showing Porky Pig waving with his left hand.  He wears a light blue bowtie and a darker blue jacket.  This item is in virtually perfect condition.  It probably dates to the mid-1970s and there is no indication anywhere on the item as to who made it.
