OSCAR THE GROUCH (Sesame Street / Muppets) magic slate

  This is an 8x6.25" magic slate drawing toy featuring Oscar the Grouch.  He is shown inside of his grey trashcan with yellow fiery exhaust coming out of its bottom as Oscar is launched into space.  The original drawing wand is present and sealed onto the cardboard mounting card.  The black backing card has never been used, and the grey peel-off surface is undamaged although lightly crinkled in a few places, as shown in the photograph accompanying this description.  Oscar was manufactured in 1985 by Western Publishing Company.

OSCAR THE GROUCH (Sesame Street / Muppets) miniature Christmas ornament

  This is a 2.25" resin Christmas ornament showing Oscar the Grouch wearing a Santa Claus hat as he pops out of his silver trashcan.  Off toward his left side, he holds a potted Christmas tree.  This item is in mint condition.  It was manufactured in 2006 by Kurt Adler as part of a set that also included Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Elmo, and Grover.

  This soft stuffed Oscar the Grouch doll stands nearly 6" tall.  It shows him, as usual, popping out of the top of his pale grey trashcan.  Both arms are extended outward and Oscar is shown with a nonplused expression on his face.  He is in mint condition and was manufactured in 1995 by Applause as part of a larger set of Muppets / Sesame Street character dolls.

  This is a 3.75" yellow plastic cookie cutter showing Oscar the Grouch happily standing inside of his trashcan-like rocketship.  This item is in mint condition.  It was manufactured by Wilton, probably sometime during the 1990s, as part of a larger set of Sesame Street character cookie cutters.

  This is a 2.75" tall soft vinyl finger puppet of a happily angry-looking Oscar the Grouch.  He holds both hands together beneath his neck, while a green worm  with light blue stripes on it is clutched to his chest.  This item was manufactured by Tara Toy and probably dates to the 1980s.  It is in mint condition.

  This is a 6.5" soft plush doll of Oscar the Grouch, who has a bushy brown unibrow and a red felt tongue, along with glued-on plastic eyes.  In person, he is brighter green in color than the picture suggests.  This item is in virtually perfect condition and it comes with its original manufacturer's label, which is also in nice condition and sewn securely into Oscar's rear end.  He was manufactured by Applause sometime during the 1980s along with a Cookie Monster counterpart.

  This is an 8.25" doll of Oscar the Grouch, who is shown popping out of the top of his grey cloth trashcan.  Oscar himself is made of a green plush with brown plush eyebrows, and he has an opened, smiling mouth.  The doll is in virtually perfect condition and it retains its original hand-shaped plastic manufacturer's hang tag (affixed to Oscar's right hand) as well as its original manufacturer's labels (sewn into the lower rear portion of the trashcan).  This doll was manufactured in 1995 by Applause.

  This is a 9" shaggy bright green plush doll of Oscar the Grouch, who is shown sitting with his arms outstretched from his sides with his legs outstretched in front of him.  Oscar has shaggy brown plush eyebrows and plastic ping-pong ball-style eyes.  He was manufactured by Knickerbocker sometime during the 1970s or early 1980s.  Oscar is in NM+ condition and he retains his original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and sewn securely into his left hip.

OSCAR THE GROUCH (Sesame Street / Muppets) Christmas ornament -- skiing

  This 3" ceramic Christmas ornament of Oscar the Grouch shows him as he rarely is shown:  with feet!  He wears his grey trashcan lid as a hat and his grey trashcan as "clothing" while he stands leaning forward on a pair of red skis.  This item is in mint condition and, best of all, it comes with its original clear plastic display/storage box.  Oscar was manufactured by Newcor sometime during the 1980s or 1990s as part of a larger collection of Sesame Street character ornaments.

  This is a 2.5" PVC figure showing Oscar the Grouch popping out of the top of his rocketship garbage can, complete with blue wings, red rocket boosters, and a red-and-white porthole.  In his left hand, there is a multi-colored worm.  This item's copyright information does not indicate when it was made or by whom, although it probably dates to the 1990s.  Oscar is free of damage, and paint wear is very minimal.  Overall, this item is in NM to NM+ condition.

  This is an 8.5" plastic storage toy featuring a vinyl figure of Oscar the Grouch, who is shown poking out of his silver trashcan with the wobbly lid on his head.  The bottom of Oscar's trashcan can be removed, allowing the inside of the toy to be used for storage.  This item is in near mint condition, with minor surface wear from having been played with over the years.  Oscar was manufactured by Lewco Corp. in 1988.

  This is a 3.25" bisque figurine showing Oscar the Grouch popping out of his grey trashcan, with the lid on his head.  He has hung a white sign saying Go Away! on the front of his trashcan.  This item is in NM+ condition.  The copyright information does not indicate who made Oscar or when he was manufactured, although he probably dates to the 1980s.  The company that made this item produced it alongside Big Bird, Ernie, and Grover counterparts (perhaps others too, but those are the ones that we have seen and/or had in our inventory over the years).

  This is a 17.5" shaggy green plush doll of Oscar the Grouch, who is shown standing with both arms extended downward and sideways from his body.  Oscar has a curved brown shaggy plush unibrow, a red felt tongue, and glued-on plastic eyes.  He is undamaged and in near mint condition, with minor scratch marks on his right eyeball being his only flaw.  The doll was manufactured by Knickerbocker sometime during the 1970s or 1980s.

  This is a 2.75" composition Christmas ornament showing Oscar the Grouch popping out of his grey trashcan, with the lid on his head.  The trashcan is decorated with yellow, blue, and red Christmas lights, and Oscar holds a yellow star in his hands.  The ornament is in virtually perfect condition and it retains its original gold lame hanging cord.  Oscar was manufactured in 1983 as part of a larger collection of Sesame Street / Muppets character ornaments.  The copyright information does not indicate who made this item.

  This is a 2.75" PVC figure of Oscar the Grouch, who is shown holding a white I Love Trash sign as he pops out of the top of a yellow trashcan.  The underside of the trashcan is hollow and we do not know whether this item was originally intended to be just the figure you see presented or part of some larger toy.  Oscar has a few tiny specks of paint loss and a surface crack on the back, upper portion of the trashcan.  (This is merely a surface crack and it does NOT go all the way through the piece.)  Overall, this item is in EX or EX+ condition.

  This Oscar the Grouch doll is nearly 11" tall.  It shows him popping out of his grey trashcan, looking upward, with both hands in front of him.  Oscar's trashcan is made of stuffed cloth; Oscar himself is made of bright green plush, with brown plush eyebrows and plastic eyes.  This item is in mint condition and it retains its original manufacturer's label, which is sewn securely into the back side of the trashcan.  Oscar was manufactured by Applause sometime during the 1990s.

  This is a 10.75" plush doll of Oscar the Grouch, who is clad in a train engineer's outfit, complete with a red neckerchief with white flowers on it, pale green-and-white striped bib overalls and a matching train engineer's cap.  This doll is undamaged and in EX+ condition, with a single stain on the front of the chest portion of the bib overalls (clearly visible in the photograph accompanying this description) being its only flaw.  Oscar was manufactured by Knickerbocker sometime during the 1970s or 1980s.

  This is a 16" aluminum cake pan showing Oscar the Grouch peeking out from the top of his trashcan. The item appears never to have been used and it is in NM+ condition. It comes with its original colorful paper insert. Oscar was manufactured by Wilton in 1977.

OSCAR THE GROUCH (Sesame Street / Muppets) rolling toy -- tractor

    This is a 2.5" tall by 3" long rolling toy featuring Oscar the Grouch as the driver of a tractor.  This item is partly made of die-cast metal and partly of plastic.  It shows Oscar inside of his silver trashcan, "behind the wheel" of a tractor that is orange in color with a yellow plow attached to the front, lime green wheels, and blue tank-like belts.  This item works fine, has no damage, and only two specks of paint loss.  It is in NM+ condition.  Oscar was made by Playskool in 1986.  As you can see from the second image above, we also happen to have this item in mint condition, still sealed inside of its original clear-plastic blisterpack and mounted on its original cardboard mounting card.  The front of the mounting card has fun, colorful graphics o Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Ernie, and Bert; and the back contains black-and-white images of all 16 items comprising the full set from which this Oscar toy originally came

  This is a 10.5" fuzzy plush doll of Oscar the Grouch who is shown popping out of a grey cloth trashcan.  He wears the trashcan's lid on his head and is shown with his mouth wide open.  This doll is in mint condition and it retains its original manufacturer's labels (in nice condition and sewn securely into the trashcan's lower rim) and its original cardboard hang tag (slightly worn but in nice condition, still affixed to Oscar's left hand).  Oscar was manufactured by Nanco in 2003.

  This is a 3.5x4.75" glass Christmas ornament showing Oscar the Grouch driving a silver convertible with a mulberry-colored door panel.  The ornament is in mint condition and it comes with its original box, which retains its original protective insert.  Oscar was manufactured by Kurt Adler in 2000 as part of a larger set of Sesame Street / Muppets character glass ornaments.  Originally, he sold for $7.99, according to the price sticker that remains intact on the box.

  This is a 2.5" PVC figure showing Oscar the Grouch as a pickle juice salesman.  He pops out of his silver trashcan with its lid on his head, and he holds one rust-colored mug in his right hand and one cup of blue pickle juice in his left hand. This figure is in virtually perfect condition.  It was manufactured by Tara Toy and probably dates to the 1980s.

  This is a 12" green plush doll of Oscar the Grouch, who is shown as a baby who is looking up in the air almost helplessly.  Oscar wears a green-and-white checked baby bonnet, and a white diaper bearing his name in pink lettering.  He has plastic ping-pong ball-style eyes whose pupils may have been retouched (quite neatly if that is the case) by his previous owner.  The doll is in NM+ condition and it retains its original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and sewn into Oscar beneath his diaper.  It shows that he was manufactured by Playskool in 1983.

  This fun item is a 6" composition bank showing Oscar the Grouch popping out of his dented grey trashcan as he holds a flesh-colored, flowered pig, which serves as his very own piggy bank.  The bank's coin slot is located on top of the pig's back and a replacement cork stopper has been inserted into the underside of the bank.  This item is in virtually perfect condition (other than the replacement stopper), and it comes with its original blue-and-silver manufacturer's sticker.  Oscar was manufactured by Gorham in 1978 as part of a set of Sesame Street / Muppets character composition banks, figurines, Christmas ornaments, and musicals.

  This is a 2.25" die-cast metal rolling toy showing Oscar the Grouch inside of his silver trashcan, driving a blue car with red plastic wheels.  The toy is named Oscar's Junk Yard Heap.  This item is in mint, unused condition.  It is still sealed inside of its original clear-plastic blisterpack (which is undamaged but crinkled in a few places) and still mounted on its original cardboard mounting card (which has some edge and corner wear and one small puncture hole on the back of the card, located inside of the blisterpack-protected area).  This item was manufactured by Playskool in 1987.

  This is a 4" soft vinyl squeak toy showing Oscar the Grouch popping out from inside of a bright red apple . . . staring hungrily right into the face of a green worm.  When squeezed, this item gives off a gentle squeaking sound.  This item was manufactured by Tommee Tippee and it probably dates to the 1990s.  It is in NM+ condition and is free of damage.

  In 1997, Tyco Preschool released a set of 24 Sesame Street / Muppets character beanbag dolls.  This is one from that set, featuring a 7" tall Oscar the Grouch.  He is shown popping out of the top of his grey trashcan and there is a yellow-and-orange worm attached to his left hand.  This doll is in mint condition and it comes with its original cardboard hang tag.

  This is a 3.25" flat-backed PVC figure showing Oscar the Grouch holding onto a maroon slate that says Keep out! in white lettering, on the front of his silver trashcan.  This figure has a flat bottom, enabling it to be placed atop a shelf or desktop.  It also has a magnet in back, enabling it to be used as a refrigerator magnet as well.  Oscar probably dates to the 1980s or 1990s, and there is no indication anywhere on him as to who made him.

o0900017.JPG (18073 bytes)  This is a sturdy, heavy-duty metal rolling toy of Oscar the Grouch, standing 2.25" tall and 2.75" long.  It shows Oscar inside of his silver trashcan, lid on his head, driving a blue convertible trashmobile with red tires.  Oscar's personalized license plate reads "I love trash" and his trunk is overflowing with trash.  This toy was made by Playskool in 1987.  It is complete and in good working condition.   There are several very small spots of minor paint loss on this car, but no damage.   It is in EX+ condition.

  This is a 9.25" vinyl bank showing Oscar the Grouch popping out of his grey trashcan.  On front, there is a brown sign telling visitors to Go away! and in his hands, there is an opened yellow can of salmon-colored sardines.  The bank's coin slot is located in the sardine can and the original plastic stopper is present. This item dates to the 1980s but the copyright information does not indicate who made it.  Oscar is in NM+ condition, with a few small marks on him.

  This is a bright green plush doll of Oscar the Grouch, who has glued-on plastic eyes and bushy brown eyebrows.  He wears a lacy white baby bonnet and a white diaper bearing his name in orange lettering.   The doll is in virtually perfect condition and appears never to have been played with.  It retains its original blue plastic hand-shaped hang tag (affixed to Oscar's right hand) and its original manufacturer's label (attached to the back of Oscar's diaper).  He was manufactured by Applause in 1983.

    This is a 3" PVC figure showing Oscar the Grouch popping out of his silver trashcan, which is situated beside a tall purple numeral 9.  He holds and is surrounded by 9 different pieces of footwear.  This item is in nearly perfect condition.  It was manufactured by Applause sometime during the 1990s as part of a complete set of Muppets / Sesame Street character figures, with each character shown beside one of the numerals from 1 to 9.  As you can see from the second image, we also happen to have another of this item, in mint condition, still sealed inside of its original packaging.

OSCAR THE GROUCH (Sesame Street / Muppets) PVC figure -- janitor

  This is a 3" PVC figure showing Oscar the Grouch as a janitor, who is using an orange-tan broom with peachy-tan "bristles" to sweep up the area outside of his silver trashcan.  This item is undamaged and in near mint condition, with a few tiny specks of paint loss being its only flaw.  Oscar was manufactured Tara Toy Corp. sometime during the 1980s or earlier 1990s.

OSWALD (Walter Lantz) molded-face doll

  This beautiful item is a 1930s or 1940s doll of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, standing 21" tall.  He has a firmly-stuffed cloth body and a molded cloth face that is painted delicately and very attractively, down to the rosy cheeks, pie-eyes, and whiskers.  He wears an orange felt beret, a pink satiny ribbon around his neck, and tan overalls.  The original cardboard hang tag that contained the copyright information for this doll is no longer present, but having had this item in our inventory a few times before, we know that Oswald was manufactured by Ideal.  He has brown marks around his wrists (visible in the photograph accompanying this description), where gloves may originally have been placed.  Otherwise, the doll is in wonderful condition, with only minor evidence of light wear.

OSWALD (Walter Lantz) bookend

  This is a 7.5" heavy-duty carnival chalk bookend or flat-backed figurine of Oswald, who is shown standing with both arms by the sides of his yellow overalls.  This item is heavy and stable enough to stand on its own, so it could be used either as a bookend or a figurine.  This item probably dates to the 1940s and thee is no indication anywhere on it as to who made it.  Typical for items of this type from this era, Oswald has a few small superficial chips in his chalk.  Luckily, though, they are only visible when the item is viewed from the back.  Oswald also has minor paint loss.  Overall, he is in VG condition.

OSWALD (Walter Lantz) squeak toy -- pointy ears

  This is a 7.25" rubber squeak toy showing Oswald standing with both arms bent akimbo on his hips.  He wears red overalls and this is the version of this squeak toy showing Oswald with pointy ears.  Although the squeaker mechanism is present, for some reason, this item does not squeak when squeezed.  It is in EX+ condition, with minor paint loss on the back of Oswald's cotton tail and some faint red marks on his face.  The tips of both of his ears appear to be nipped off BUT were not damaged; rather, they both have original mold hole indentations on them.  This item was manufactured by Sun Rubber some time during the 1950s.

OSWALD & CUDDLES (Walter Lantz) collector's interaction glass

  This is a 6.25" collector's interaction glass of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Cuddles.  The glass is a Federal-style glass (i.e., not tapered, thinner glass, beveled bottom) and it has white lettering and a white copyright logo.  The glass shows Cuddles running away from Oswald whom he has inadvertently tied to a mailbox with his dog leash.  The glass retains all of its original glossiness and is in virtually perfect condition.  It probably dates to the 1970s and there is no indication as to who made or distributed it.

    This is a 2.75" PVC figure showing Winnie the Pooh's friend, Owl, standing and pointing to a tan-orange book he holds underneath his right wing.  This item dates to 2000 and it was manufactured by Fisher Price.  Owl is in NM+ condition, with minor paint loss being his only flaw.  As you can see  from the image on the right, we also happen to have another of this item available for purchase in mint condition, still sealed inside of its original clear-plastic blisterpack and still mounted on its original cardboard mounting card.

  This nifty find is a 4.25" flocked plastic figure of Owl, who is shown with his right wing splayed out across his yellow chest.  This item is in near mint condition, with minor wear on the flocking being its only flaw.  Owl was manufactured sometime during the 1970s along with Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore counterparts (all of which are in stock as of the original date of posting this item).  There is no indication anywhere on Owl as to who made him.

  This is a 3" ceramic figurine of Owl, who is shown standing on a round white base.  He is beige in color with darker brown head and wing accents, and an orange beak.  This figurine is undamaged and in NM+ condition.  It was manufactured in England by Beswick as part of a larger set of Winnie the Pooh and friends ceramic figurines.  Owl bears the Walt Disney Productions copyright marking, and he probably dates to the 1960s or 1970s.

  This is a 2.5x4.25" flocked hollow plastic Christmas ornament showing Owl with his wings spread as if in flight.  He has glued-on paper eyes, a fluffy white "beard," and orange plastic feet and beak.  This item retains its original thin gold lame hanging cord, and is in nearly perfect condition.  There is no indication anywhere on this item as to who made it (Sears is the likeliest candidate here), and it probably dates to the 1970s.  Owl was manufactured along with several other Winnie the Pooh characters, in flocked plastic ornament form.

  This is a 3.75x5.5" pressed cardboard wall plaque showing Owl with his wings raised, as if about to take flight, while perching on a green tree limb that is surrounded by several green leaves.  This item is undamaged and it has a few small spots of edge wear on the irregular-shaped corners, leaving it in EX+ condition.  It was manufactured sometime during the 1960s or 1970s as part of a set that also included Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Piglet, and Eeyore.  Owl probably was manufactured by Dolly Toy, but this is not indicated on the item.

This gorgeous, vintage item is a 14" stuffed doll of Winnie the Pooh's friend, Owl.  Owl has glued-on felt facial features, two-tone brown and black felt wings and tail, felt feet, a plush body, a red ribbon around the neck, a white felt neck ruffle, and a vinyl beak.  This doll is in NM+ condition and it retains its original manufacturer's label, which is also in nice condition.  Owl was manufactured by Gund sometime during the 1960s as part of a larger set of Winnie the Pooh and friends dolls.

  This is a 3.5" resin Christmas ornament showing Owl standing and shivering, despite wearing a red skit cap, a green muffler, and having an orange hot water bottle tied around his midriff. This item is in mint condition and it comes with its original box, which is also in nice condition. Owl was manufactured by Hallmark and was released in 1993.

  This pretty and unusual find is a 4" ceramic mug showing Owl standing on the grass, waving with his right hand/wing, Winnie the Pooh marching behind him with his right arm raised, and Tigger as the mug's handle.  The figures of Owl and Winnie the Pooh are provided in raised-relief.  This item was manufactured by Enesco sometime during the 1960s.  It is in NM+ condition and it bears the Walt Disney Productions copyright marking.
