SAD SACK (King Features) collector's glass

  This is a 6.25" thick (i.e., Brockway-style) collector's glass bearing two identical images of Sad Sack, who is shown unhappily marching along, hunched forward, carrying his rifle on his left shoulder as he looks over his right shoulder.  He wears pale khaki green army fatigues and is flesh-colored otherwise.  This glass has white lettering and a white Pepsi logo between the two Sad Sack images.  It was manufactured sometime during the 1960s or 1970s.  This glass is in NM+ condition, with no damage and no loss of glossiness anywhere on it.

SALLY (Peanuts) wooden Christmas ornament -- as angel

  This is a 3.25" tall, flat wooden Christmas ornament of Sally, who is shown dressed as angel.  She has an orange halo over her blonde hair, a blue dress with black polka dots on it, white wings attached to the dress with an orange strap, and orange sandals on her feet.  This is one of many Peanuts wooden ornaments that were made during the 1970s, although the copyright information does not indicate who the manufacture was.  The reverse side bears the same image as that shown in the picture, although due to wear, it is much duller in appearance.  Overall, this item is in NM- condition.

SALLY (Peanuts) box-style Christmas ornament

  Sometime during the 1990s, Equity Promotions released a set of box-style Peanuts character Christmas ornaments, including Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, and this one of Sally.  Here, she is shown with both hands holding her giggling mouth shut as she pops out of the top of a wrapped package that is decorated with blue-and-green striped wrapping paper, decorated white Christmas trees, and a red ribbon.  Sally herself is made of plastic and her gift box is made of cardboard.  Standing 3" tall, Sally is in perfect condition and her gift box is in EX condition, with no damage but some wear on the edges and corners of the box.

SALLY (Peanuts) squeak toy

  This is a 5.5" vinyl squeak toy showing Sally standing with her eyes closed, contentedly giggling.  She holds both hands over her mouth in an effort to suppress her laughter.  Sally is shown wearing a bright pink shirt, black pants, and white shoes with black laces.  She was manufactured during the 1990s by Con Agra as part of a larger collection of Peanuts character squeak toys.  When squeezed, Sally gives off a gentle squeaking sound.  She is undamaged and with very little paint loss is in NM+ condition.

SALLY (Peanuts) wooden Christmas ornament -- with wreath

  This is a 3.5" tall, two-sided, two-dimensional wooden Christmas ornament of Charlie Brown's little sister, Sally.  It was manufactured during the late 1970s as part of a collection of 20 Peanuts character ornaments, all of which we have in stock at this time.  Sally is shown wearing a blue dress with black polka dots on it, blue socks, and white shoes.  She has a large Christmas wreath in front of her.  Both sides of the ornament are painted identically, although the side not shown in the picture bears the copyright information.  This ornament is in EX+ condition, with very small spots of wear located along the lower and left edges, as shown in the picture.

SALLY (Peanuts) cloth Christmas ornament

  This is a 7.25" lightly stuffed cloth Christmas ornament showing Sally standing with her arms outstretched from her sides.  She wears white shoes, red socks, and a red dress with black polka dots on it.  The ornament retains its original red cloth hanging loop.  The copyright information does not indicate who made this item or when it was manufactured, although Sally probably was crafted as part of a home-crafting kit sometime during the 1970s or 1980s.  She is in mint condition.

SALLY (Peanuts) wooden Christmas ornament -- with tree ornament

  This is a 3.5" tall, two-sided, two-dimensional wooden Christmas ornament of Sally from the Peanuts comics.  She is shown wearing a bright red dress with black polka dots, red socks, and white shoes.  Sally holds a green Christmas tree-shaped ornament in her raised left hand, as she presumably decorates her holiday tree.  This ornament was manufactured during the 1970s as part of a complete collection of 20 Peanuts character ornaments, all of which are in stock at this time.  Sally is in nearly perfect condition.

SALLY (Peanuts) wooden Christmas ornament -- hugging gift

  This is a 3" tall, flat wooden Christmas ornament of Sally, who is shown contentedly hugging a large yellow Christmas gift that has green bells and a red ribbon and bow on it.  She wears a blue dress with black polka dots, red socks, and orange shoes.  This item was made during the 1970s, although the copyright information does not indicate who the manufacturer was.  It is one of a large collection of Peanuts character wooden Christmas ornaments made at that time, many others of which we also have in stock at this time.  The reverse side bears the same image.  Overall, this item is in near mint condition.

SAM I AM (Doctor Seuss) plush doll

  This uncommon find is a 27" plush doll of Sam I am, from Dr. Seuss' classic story Green Eggs and Ham.  It shows him wearing a tall red hat and a yellow tunic.  Sam I Am is pale grey in color with glued-on plastic eyes.  Other than missing his cheek whiskers (the remnants of which remain intact on the sides of his cheeks), Sam I Am is in very nice condition.  He retains his original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and sewn securely into his left hip.  It shows that the item was manufactured in 1979 by Eden Toys.

SAM SHEEPDOG & RALPH WOLF (Warner Brothers) interaction glass

  This is a 6.25" Brockway-style (i.e., thick) collector's interaction glass showing Sam Sheepdog and Ralph Wolf (who is a mirror image of Wile E Coyote).  Sam tugs on the end of a lasso rope while one sheep looks on in fear as Ralph Wolf tries to run away with another sheep in his arms.  This glass has a white Pepsi logo between the images of the two characters.  It was distributed in 1976 as part of a Pepsi Collector Series of Looney Tunes interaction glasses.  This particular glass is in NM+ condition and it retains all of its original glossiness.  Its only flaw is a small scratch in the paint beside Sam's left hand (visible in the photograph accompanying this description).

SANDY (Little Orphan Annie) pillow doll

  This is an 18.5" stuffed cloth pillow-style doll of Little Orphan Annie's dog pal, Sandy.  Sandy is shown smiling, tail raised behind, and sitting on all fours.  The doll may have been made as part of a do-it-yourself home crafts kit, but if that was the case, it was well made.  It is in mint condition, and there is no indication anywhere on the item as to who manufactured it or when it was made.  In all likelihood, this is a 1970s piece.

SANTA CLAUS soaky

  This is the Santa Claus soaky that Colgate-Palmolive manufactured during the 1960s.  Santa is shown with a flesh-colored face, and white beard, moustache, shirt cuffs, hat trim, pants, and toy sack.  The rest of the soaky is bright red.  This item has no damage anywhere on it, and it retains its original red plastic screw-on cap.  Santa has several very small spots of paint loss.  Overall, this item is in EX+ condition.

SCARECROW (Wizard of Oz) doll

  In 1988, Multi Toys Corp. manufactured a complete set of Wizard of Oz collectible dolls to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the film.  Included in this set were the Wizard, the Tin Man, Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, Glinda the Good Witch, the Wicked Witch, and this one of the Scarecrow.  (We have several of the others in stock at this time as well.)  This doll is made of vinyl and stands about 12.5" tall.  It has movable arms and legs and shows the Scarecrow wearing a brown hat, a white cloth collar around his neck (tied in place with a piece of white rope), an olive green cloth shirt decorated with yellow yarn (also held in place with a piece of white rope), brown cloth pants with patches on the knees, and yellow yarn to hold his pants in place above his shoes.  Scarecrow also comes with his original Degree in Common Sense diploma.  He is in mint condition and comes in his original box.  The box is in EX to EX+ condition, with some crinkling (but no tears) in the cellophane window, one very small tear (1/4") in the cardboard near the lower end of the cellophane window, and some bending of the insertable top flap.

SCHROEDER (Peanuts) bank -- baseball catcher

  This is a 7.5" composition bank showing Schroeder as a baseball catcher.  He wears a green baseball cap with a black brim on his head, backwards, a black facemask with an orange-tan edge, an orange-tan chest protector, a blue shirt, tan shorts, and black shoes.  The coin slot is located just above the baseball cap's brim and the original generic black rubber stopper is no longer present underneath the bank.  This item was manufactured in 1971 by Determined as part of a complete set of Peanuts Gang baseball player banks, which also included Lucy, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Linus.  (We have some of the others in stock at this time, too.)  This item is free of damage and is in NM+ condition.

SCHROEDER (Peanuts) bubble bath bottle

  During the 1970s (1970 in this specific instance), Avon manufactured a series of Peanuts character bath-related items.  This is the Schroeder item from that set, showing him sitting with his legs in front of him.  His box is shaped like a baby grand piano.  Schroeder himself is made of plastic and is nearly 5" tall.    The box is in VG condition, complete, but with some edge wear and one tear on the side, as you can see in the picture accompanying this description.  Schroeder is in NM+ condition and he retains most, if not all, of his original pleasantly-scented shampoo.

SCHROEDER (Peanuts) Hungerford figure

  This beautiful item is a 7.75" vinyl squeak toy of Schroeder, who is shown wearing a red shirt, red pants, and black shoes.  He leans forward with his hands near the tips of his toes, and originally came with a now-long-lost ivory-white piano.  When squeezed, Schroeder gives off a gentle squeaking sound.  His vinyl is soft and supple, and he is completely free of damage.  Paint loss on this item is minimal, leaving Schroeder in NM to NM+ condition--by far one of the nicest examples of this item that we have ever seen.  It was manufactured during the late 1950s by Hungerford along with Snoopy, Sally, Lucy, Charlie Brown, Pig Pen, and Linus counterparts.

SCHROEDER (Peanuts) Anri musical

  This is a 5" hand-carved wooden musical showing Schroeder (who actually resembles Linus here) sitting on a red-and-tan checkerboard floor, feet in front of him, as he plays his miniature black baby grand piano.  The piano has a bust of Beethoven on it, and a small bird sits beside it on the floor.  When the bottom is wound up, the musical revolves and plays Leitmotiv Kaiserkonzert.  Both the rotation and musical mechanisms work just fine on this item.  Schroeder was manufactured in 1968 by Anri.  He is in virtually perfect condition and retains his original manufacturer's label and his original price sticker.  Originally, he sold for $17 at Turner Brothers.  Ahhhh, those were the days, eh?!

SCHROEDER (Peanuts) doll

  This is a 7.5" vinyl doll of Schroeder who is shown wearing black shoes, black cloth pants, and an orange cloth sweater with a black image of Beethoven on it.  The doll is jointed and has movable arms and legs.  It was manufactured by Boucher as part of its 1970s Pocket Dolls set, which also included Charlie Brown, two versions of Lucy, Snoopy the Flying Ace, and Linus.  Schroeder is free of damage.  He has minor wear on the soles of his shoes and light fading or dinginess of the sweater.  Overall, he is in NM- condition.

SCHROEDER & LUCY (Peanuts) figurescene

  This is a 4.25x6.75" composition figurescene showing Schroeder sitting in front of his small black baby grand piano as Lucy angrily rests her right elbow on its opposite end.  The black caption on the red paper appliqué on the front of the figurescene's royal blue-and-green rectangular base says I look forward to the day when I'll understand men.  This item is in NM- condition, with a few small surface nicks on the lower edge of the base and the faint numeral 191 appearing on the green felt protective undercovering.  This item was manufactured in 1971 by Determined along with several other Peanuts character figurescenes.

SCHROEDER & LUCY (Peanuts) wall plaque

  During the 1970s, Hallmark released a number of wooden wall plaques featuring the Peanuts Gang in various combinations, each with cute comics pertaining to their individual personalities.  This one of Schroeder and Lucy is from that set, and it is 3.5" square.  The comic decal is mounted on pink wood and shows Lucy leaning admiringly on Schroeder's brown piano.  The bubble caption above her head says It's amazing how stupid you can be when you're in love.  This item is in NM+ condition and the original Hallmark sticker is intact on the reverse side of the plaque.

SCHROEDER & SNOOPY (Peanuts) musical

  This uncommon find is a 6.25" ceramic musical showing Schroeder hunched forward as he prepares to play his tan baby grand piano as Snoopy, dressed as a band leader, happily stands atop the piano.  The two of them are perched atop a pastel yellow base that is draped with pink-and-blue material.  When the white plastic base is wound, the musical revolves and plays Emperor (Beethoven's Concerto).  Both the rotation and musical mechanisms work just fine.  This musical was manufactured by Schmid sometime during the 1970s or 1980s and is number 2,387 in a limited edition of 15,000.  It is in virtually perfect condition other than the writing on the underside of the musical, which is shown clearly in the picture accompanying this description.

SCHROEDER, SNOOPY, & LUCY (Peanuts) jewelry box musical

  This beautiful and rare find is a jewelry box-style wooden musical featuring one image of Schroeder and Snoopy and another of Lucy and Snoopy.  The lid opens and, when the musical knob is wound up, that activates the music.  (It stops playing when the lid is closed.)  The box is lime green and has one image of a happily-dancing Snoopy atop Schroeder's piano (on the lid) and another of a frightened Lucy receiving an unwanted kiss from an amorous Snoopy (on the lid's interior).  This item was manufactured by Anri in 1971.  When wound up, it plays I Could Have Danced All Night.  The musical mechanism works just fine, but does not stop when the lid is closed . . . only when the unwinding is completely done.  The original price sticker is still affixed to the underside of the musical, showing that it originally sold for $7.50.  Those were the days, eh?!  This item has minor edge wear and, overall, is in NM- to NM condition.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) hard-stuffed doll

  This hard-stuffed Scooby Doo doll stands 8.25" tall.  It is brown in color with black glued-on spots made of material, glued-on cross-eyed eyes, a green felt dog collar with a yellow pendant, and a glued-on nose and mouth.  Although it is not visible in the picture, Scooby also has a long material tail.  This item was manufactured in 1979 by Dakin.  It is in near mint to NM+ condition, with the only flaw being the absence of the sewn-on toe divider threads on Scooby Doo's front left paw.  He retains his original manufacturer's label, which is in great shape and sewn securely into his behind.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) cup/mug

  This is a 4.25" red plastic cup/mug showing Scooby Doo sitting on all fours with his eyes crossed.  This item was manufactured in 1971 but the copyright information does not indicate who made it.  Scooby Doo is undamaged and the surface of the cup shows minor evidence of light use, leaving it in NM+ condition.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) birthday cake candle

  This is a 3" birthday party cake candle showing Scooby Doo sitting on his haunches, facing forward, and wearing a blue dog collar with a yellow pendant on it.  The item is in mint, unused condition and it remains sealed inside of its original packaging.  Scooby was manufactured by Pioneer for Betty Crocker.  Although undated, this item probably was made during the 1970s or very early 1980s, and it has other Hanna Barbera cartoon character counterparts in the set from which it originally came.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) doll -- purple flower

  This stuffed Scooby Doo doll is nearly 12" tall.  It shows him sitting on all fours with his tail curved behind him.  Between his legs, on the left side, Scooby Doo has a purple flower with a yellow center.  He has a turquoise felt collar around his neck and a big cheesy grin on his face.  Scooby Doo was manufactured by Play-by-Play Toys in 1999.  He is in NM+ condition and retains one of his original manufacturer's labels, which is in nice condition and sewn securely into his rear end.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) jointed vinyl figure

  This is a 7.25" jointed vinyl figure of Scooby Doo, who is shown happily walking along with his tail raised in the air.  He wears a turquoise dog collar with a yellow diamond-shaped pendant with his initials on it.  Scooby Doo has two movable legs and a movable tail.  He is in NM+ condition and his copyright information does not indicate who made him or when he was manufactured.  In all likelihood, this is a later 1990s piece.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) stuffed doll

s1100043.JPG (15576 bytes)  This is a lightweight stuffed doll of Scooby Doo, standing 8" tall.  It has a woolly covering, a brown felt dog collar, red felt glued-on tongue, and glued-on felt facial features.  Scooby's body is tan in color with darker brown spots.  He was manufactured by Sutton in 1970 and retains his original manufacturer's label, which is in very nice condition and sewn securely into his right hind quarter.  This item is free of damage and has only minor wear, leaving it in near mint condition.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) vinyl bank -- sitting

s0800090.JPG (10714 bytes)  This is a hard vinyl bank of Scooby Doo, sitting 5.75" tall.  Scooby is all brown in color, except for his white-painted eyes and his black-painted eyebrows and nose.  He wears a green dog collar around his neck with a yellow medallion hanging from it.   The coin slot is located on the back of Scooby's back; the original coin trap is no longer present underneath his feet.  This item was manufactured in 1980 and was probably sold in the King's Island amusement park gift shops.  This bank is free of damage and paint loss is minimal, with a few light marks on Scooby's left side.   Overall, this item is in EX to EX+ condition.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) cake pan

  This is a 16" aluminum cake pan showing Scooby Doo from the dog collar upward.  He smiles and looks downward and slightly toward his left side.  This item was manufactured by Wilton in 1999.  It is undamaged and in near mint condition, with a few light surface scratches being its only flaw.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) Christmas ornament -- angel

  This is a 4" PVC Christmas ornament showing Scooby Doo as a crawling (or flying, perhaps?) angel.  He holds a green-and-white striped magic wand with a white star on top of it in his mouth.  Above his head, there is a red beanie and a gold halo and he wears a pearly white gown with matching angel wings.  Scooby was manufactured by Trevco Trading Corp. in 2002 as part of a larger collection of Scooby Doo ornaments.  This item is in mint, unused condition and it comes with its original box, which also retains its original clear plastic protective insert.

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) woolen doll

  This is a 7.5" stuffed Scooby Doo doll, showing him standing on all fours.  Scooby has a woolen material covering him, glued-on felt facial features, and a brown felt dog collar around his neck.  He was manufactured by Sutton and Sons in 1970, as indicated by the manufacturer's label that is sewn into his rear end.  This item is undamaged and in no worse than near mint condition, with its principal flaw being that it stands only on three of its legs at any given time.  We have no idea why Scooby leans like this, but it is definitely noticeable when the item is with you.  Otherwise, he's in great shape and is a nice, vintage-era Scooby Doo collectible!

SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) jointed vinyl Dakin figure

  This jointed vinyl figure of Scooby Doo was manufactured in 1980.  Although not imprinted with the usual R. Dakin Company copyright information, that is who manufactured this item, which was intended for sale primarily at the King's Island amusement park.  (The Dakin figures that were made for sale exclusively at the amusement park venues were not imprinted with the manufacturer's information.)  Scooby is 6.75" tall and 6" long.  His head, front legs, back legs, and tail are all movable.  This tough-to-find Dakin figure is in NM+ condition, with only faint traces of paint wear and one very small mark being its only flaws.  We also have this item's counterpart piece, Scrappy Doo, in stock at this time.

SCOOTER (Sesame Street / Muppets) stick puppet

    This relatively rare find is a 3" jointed plastic stick puppet of Scooter, who is shown wearing black glasses, a green sweater with yellow trim, blue pants, and white shoes.  He has movable arms and legs, and a pivoting head.  Scooter comes with his original white plastic holder, as the photograph accompanying this description shows.  Scooter is undamaged and he shows very little wear, leaving him in NM+ condition overall.  He was manufactured in 1978 by Fisher Price as part of a larger collection of Muppets character stick puppets.  As you can see from the second image, we also have this item available in mint condition, still sealed on its original cardboard mounting card.  The blisterpack has some crinkling near Scooter's feet, but it is otherwise intact.

SCOOTER (Sesame Street / Muppets) doll

  This is a 17" stuffed cloth doll of Scooter, who has white vinyl sneakers.  He wears a lime green satin jacket and blue denim-style jeans.  His eyes and glasses are made of plastic.  Scooter was manufactured by Fisher Price in 1978 and he retains his original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and sewn securely into the back of his jacket.  This doll is undamaged, although it does have a few condition-related things to note.  First, as shown in the picture accompanying this description, Scooter's jeans have some stains above the knees.  Second, there is some paint loss on his eyeballs.  Overall, this doll is in EX- to EX condition.

SCRAPPY DOO (Scooby Doo / Hanna Barbera) Italian soaky

  This is a vinyl soaky bottle manufactured by the Italian company, Damascar, in 1995.  It features Scrappy holding onto a yellow rope that loops around the neck of a large bright green slime monster, attached to a grey pail on the slime monster's head.  The two of them are shown standing atop a cylindrical grey brick edifice of some kind.  From top to bottom, this item is 7.5" tall.  Although not visible in the picture, this item comes complete with its original laminated paper hang tag, which bears another image of Scrappy Doo on it.  Scrappy has a few tiny marks on him.  The item is otherwise undamaged and in great shape--NM to NM+ overall.  Although not very old, the Damascar soakies are considered rare and highly collectible in the U.S. due to their very limited European distribution.  We have several of the other Hanna Barbera Damascar soakies in stock at this time as well.

SCRAPPY DOO (Scooby Doo / Hanna Barbera) white-knob wind-up toy

  This is a 3.25" plastic white-knob wind-up toy featuring Scooby Doo's nephew, Scrappy Doo.  He stands atop a grassy mound and looks off toward his right side.  When the knob is wound, Scrappy Doo scoots along a smooth, hard surface and his right arm moves up and down.  Although the motion mechanism works, it occasionally requires a nudge to get it moving.  This item is in no worse than near mint condition.  It was manufactured in 1996 as a promotional giveaway by Burger King fast food restaurants.

SCRAPPY DOO & SCOOBY DOO (Hanna Barbera) night light

  This tough-to-find item is a 7.25" bisque night light, showing Scrappy Doo lovingly holding onto Scooby Doo's tail.  Scooby is sitting on all fours and is shown looking downward and toward his left side, at a white ghost who is holding onto Scooby's front left leg with its right "hand" and its mouth with its left "hand."  This night light works perfectly and it gives off a gentle glow when it is plugged in and turned on.  It was manufactured in 1984 but the copyright information does not indicate who the manufacturer was.  Originally, this item was sold along with Fred Flintstone and Yogi Bear counterparts, but the Scrappy/Scooby version is the least commonly found of them all.  This item is in NM+ condition, with its only flaw being some wear on the spongy tabletop protective undercovering beneath the item's base.
