blue plastic clapping-hands shaped Applause tag is still affixed to Cookie
Monster's right arm and his original manufacturer's label is intact and in nice
condition, sewn into his left hip. This doll probably dates to the 1980s,

across a hard, smooth surface quite well. When it does, the engine bobs up
and down. This toy was manufactured by Illco and probably dates to the
1980s or 1990s. Its only flaw is some paint wear on the top of both of

This unusual find
is also a fun rolling toy. It shows Cookie Monster--as always--eating
chocolate chip cookies. But here, he is inside of a large yellow cookie
jar filled with them, with the jar's lid on his head. The front of the jar
has the words Cookie Jar embossed in raised-relief red lettering, with
Cookie Monster-style crossed eyes inside of the "o"s. When the
lid is pushed down and then released, Cookie Monster pops up from the cookie
jar, the friction mechanism is activated, and the Cookie Monster scoots rapidly
along the floor. This friction mechanism works perfectly and the toy is
fun to watch. This toy was manufactured by Illco sometime during the
1980s. It is in near mint condition, with some wear on the letters being
the item's only flaw.

CURIOUS GEORGE balancing unicycle toy
If you're looking
for a fun and "different" kind of toy, this 8" plastic Curious
George item might very well qualify! It shows him wearing a red shirt and
blue overalls as he balances himself atop a white unicycle with a yellow
wheel. The item was named Curious George: The Balancing Monkey when
it was manufactured by Schylling Associates in 1995. The toy is in mint,
seemingly unused condition, and it comes with its original box and its original
instructions. The box has some edge wear, but is generally in nice
condition and it has very colorful, attractive graphics on it. The idea
for enjoying the toy is to stretch the tightrope between two poles or objects
and the place Curious George onto it so that he can unicycle ride his way from
end to end while balancing himself along the way.
