MERLIN THE MAGICAL MOUSE (Warner Brothers) mini Goofy Gram

During the early 1970s, R. Dakin Company released a series of Goofy Gram figures of the Looney Tunes characters, with each character standing atop a faux-marble base with some clever saying that was apropos for that character.  Around that same time, the company released a smaller number of mini Goofy Grams--similar in style but smaller in size when compared to the Goofy Grams.  These are MUCH harder to find nowadays, and this nearly-7"-tall vinyl figure of Merlin the Magical Mouse is one of them.  He is shown wearing a white shirt, a black bowtie, and a maroon jacket.  In his left hand, he holds a blue wine glass and stands atop a white pedestal that says "I'll drink to that!" in black lettering on the yellow paper decal.  This item is free of damage and has minor paint wear on Merlin's black top hat and on his nose.  The decal is intact but somewhat crinkled.  Overall, this rare item is in EX+ condition.   We also have his Tweety counterpart in stock at this time, along with several of the full-sized Goofy Gram figures.

MERLIN THE MAGICAL MOUSE (Warner Brothers) Christmas ornament

This is a hollow, lightweight, blown-plastic Christmas ornament of Merlin the Magical Mouse.  He has a grey flocked body, blue eyelids (go figure!), a red vest with a white button, and a red top hat.  As you can see in the picture, the left eye has come unglued from Merlin's head, even though the item is in mint condition and has never been removed from its original package.  This is typical of the items in the set from which this item came, since most of them seem to have lost eyes, clothing, or other body parts over the years due to drying-up of the glue affixing the various parts to the other parts.  Merlin stands 4" tall and was made by Liberty Bell Christmas in 1978 as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes characters. (We have several of the other items from this collection in stock at this time, too.)  The header card shows images of Porky Pig, Speedy Gonzales, Petunia Pig, Merlin the Magical Mouse, Yosemite Sam, and the Warner Brothers shield.  Originally, this item sold for $0.99 at Rickel's hardware stores . . . based on the original price tag, which remains on the top of the header card.  As you can see from the image on the right, we also have one of these items loose, without its original package.  That item is in near mint condition, with one spot of flocking missing from Merlin's left foot.

MERLIN THE MAGICAL MOUSE (Warner Brothers) Dakin Goofy Gram

During the early 1970s, the R. Dakin Company released a series of Looney Tunes Goofy Grams, featuring various Warner Brothers cartoon characters standing atop faux-marble bases with clever sayings on them.  This is the 1971 Merlin the Magical Mouse Goofy Gram from that series.  Merlin's base reads "I'll drink to that!" as he stands there holding an empty plastic martini glass.  This item stands 9.25" tall.   Merlin is shown wearing a black vinyl top hat with a grey lower half, a white shirt joined with a black tie, and a red velvet jacket with a black button on the front.   Merlin's arms can be moved and his head swivels.  This item is in near mint condition and comes complete with its original martini glass (which is often missing when this item is found) and manufacturer's sticker, which is affixed to the green felt protective bottom on the underside of the faux-marble base.
