MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) vinyl bank

  This is a relatively uncommon 8.25" hard vinyl bank of Mickey Mouse, who is shown standing cross-legged, leaning against a tree stump.  Although the item bears no manufacturer's information, it probably dates to the 1970s or earlier 1980s.  It retains its original black rubber stopper and has no damage anywhere on it.  There are a few small spots of paint loss, primarily on the back of Mickey's yellow shoes and on the back of the green grassy area.  Overall, this bank is in NM- condition.

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) cloth and vinyl doll

  This Mickey Mouse doll is approximately 11" tall.  It has a soft, spongy stuffed body and a vinyl head.  Mickey is wearing a bright green sweater with a red-and-white snowflake pattern across the middle of his chest, bright red pants, and black faux-leather shoes.  Overall, this item is in NM to NM+ condition, with just a few very light surface marks on the back of Mickey's head and some very faint soiling on his hands.   All material is present and undamaged.  There is no identifying information on this Mickey Mouse, so its manufacturer and age are unknown.  It is probably a 1980s or 1990s doll, though.

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) bisque figurine, as skier

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) PVC figure -- aviator

  This is a 1.25" PVC figure showing Mickey Mouse sitting with his feet extended in front of him, waving with his raised left hand.  On his head, he wears a set of brown aviator's goggles with pale blue-grey lenses.  There is no indication of who made this item or when it was manufactured, at least in part because it is so small that it would be difficult to place legible copyright information on Mickey!  He is undamaged, has minor paint wear, and has an indented (not damaged--made that way) rectangular area underneath his red pants.  Overall, this item is in near mint condition.

COST = $4           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS           ITEM NUMBER = 0702062

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) squeak toy -- as hobo

   This is one of the tougher 1950s-era Dell squeak toys of Mickey Mouse to find.   It is 10" tall and shows Mickey dressed in a white shirt and white shoes, with red pants.  He is hitchhiking with his left hand and is carrying a blue stick with white sack with red polka dots (as a hobo would) over his right shoulder.  The rubber is in nice shape and is undamaged.   There is some very minor paint loss on the edge of Mickey's right ear, and some very minor paint wear on his pants.  This item gives off a gentle squeaking sound when squeezed and, overall, is in NM- to NM condition.

COST = $85           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS           ITEM NUMBER = 0299072

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) ceramic figurine

  This is a 3" ceramic figurine of Mickey Mouse, who is shown with pie-style eyes.  He wears his usual red shorts with the white buttons and yellow shoes.  He stands with both arms bent akimbo on his hips.  This item is free of damage and its only flaw is minor crackling in the paint on the front of his shorts, as visible in the photograph accompanying this description.  Mickey is in near mint condition.  He bears the Walt Disney Productions copyright marking and, thus, probably dates to the 1960s or 1970s.  There is no indication anywhere on this item as to who made it.

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) silver bell -- baseball bat

  This is a 2.75" silver bell showing Mickey Mouse standing on his left leg, right leg bent behind him, as he swings a baseball bat.  This item was manufactured by the New England Collector's Society during the 1980s as part of a large collection of Walt Disney character commemorative bells.  Other than having some tarnishing on the silver, Mickey Mouse is in perfect condition.

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) soaky

  During the early 1970s, Avon manufactured several Walt Disney character soakies, including the Mad Hatter, Pluto, and this one of Mickey Mouse (among others).  Mickey has a vinyl body and a plastic scalp and ears.  The scalp and ears can be unscrewed, to allow access to where the shampoo used to be.  Mickey is wearing red shorts with white buttons on them, and yellow shoes.  He has no damage and only minor paint wear on one of his buttons, on his right hand, and on the area in his eyes near where the top screws onto the base.  Overall, this item is in EX+ condition.

COST = $20           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS           ITEM NUMBER = 0198171

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) composition bank -- sitting and thinking

  This is an 8" composition bank of Mickey Mouse, who is shown sitting on a brown stool as he thinks.  He is wearing his usual red shorts with the white snaps and yellow shoes.   Mickey's left hand rests on the stool by his side as he holds his right hand and index finger up in the air, by his cheek, as if he is about to say something profound.   The coin slot is located on the back of Mickey's head and the original generic black rubber stopper is present on the underside of the bank.  This item bears the Walt Disney Productions copyright marking and probably dates to the 1960s or early 1970s.   It is undamaged.  The top of Mickey's head and parts of his ears have lost their gloss, either from being washed/cleaned too vigorously in those areas and/or due to being recolored there.  This is evident when the item is inspected close-up, but not when it is displayed and viewed as a display piece.  We will downgrade this item to EX condition, specifically because of this, although if the areas of lost gloss are merely the result of the protective coating being worn in those areas, a higher condition grading would be appropriate (in the EX+ to NM- range).

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) squeak toy, fork

m0599039.jpg (5427 bytes)   Among the truly unusual squeak toys we've ever run across is this one, on which Mickey Mouse's head appears on a large orange fork.  When originally manufactured by Danara during the 1970s, this item was part of a set that also included Donald Duck on a spoon and Goofy on a knife.  This item is 7.75" long and gives off a gentle squeaking sound when squeezed.  It is undamaged and, overall, is in EX+ condition, with minor paint wear on Mickey's red bowtie and on the white lettering of his name being the item's only "problems."

COST = $12           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0599039

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) squeak toy -- flesh-colored and red

  This is a 6" rubber squeak toy of Mickey Mouse that was manufactured by Dell sometime during the 1950s or 1960s.  Mickey is primarily flesh-colored, with red and black accents.   He is shown standing with both hands behind his back, holding a flower.  The rubber is in very nice, soft condition; and Mickey gives off a gentle squeaking sound when squeezed.  He has minor paint wear on his nose, minor paint wear along the front, bottom edge of his shoes, and one 1/4" spot of paint loss on the top of his left shoe.  Otherwise, he's in great shape, meriting an NM- or NM condition grading.

COST = $55           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0199070

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) drum major mechanical bank

  This is a hard vinyl bank of Mickey Mouse as a drum major.  The bank stands 8.5" tall and is missing its original stopper.  Mickey wears a bright red shirt with yellowish-orange bars across the chest, blue pants, and black shoes.  He holds a yellowish-orange baton in his left hand and stands beside a yellowish-orange drum with red trim.  The arm above the drum is movable, thereby making this a mechanical bank.   The coin can be placed into Mickey's right hand and the arm lowered so that the coin drops into the coin slot on the top of the drum.  This item is free of damage but has minor paint wear on Mickey's ear tips and on the front of his shirt.  It is in EX to EX+ condition and was manufactured during the 1970s by Animal Plus Toys Inc. along with Pluto and Donald Duck counterparts (both of which we have in stock at this time).

COST = $15           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS           ITEM NUMBER = 0498044

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) plastic figurine

  This plastic Mickey Mouse stands 5.25" tall.  He is wearing a bright yellow shirt, red bowtie, blue pants, and brown shoes.  This item was manufactured during the 1950s or 1960s and bears the Walt Disney Productions marking on the back.  Mickey's front side is in very nice condition, with very minor wear.  On back, though, he has two melting marks, one on the back of his head and one on the back of his shoulders.   These are not noticeable when the item is displayed and viewed from the front, but definitely detract from the item's overall value and condition.  Due to those melt marks, this Mickey Mouse item grades as being in Good condition.

COST = $8           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0198104

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) hard stuffed doll

  During the mid-1960s, several hard stuffed Walt Disney cartoon character dolls were manufactured, some of which had vinyl heads (as this one does) and some of which were entirely cloth/stuffed. (We have the all-stuffed Winnie the Pooh doll from this set in stock at this time too.) This is one of a few Mickey Mouse doll variations from that set, showing Mickey wearing a blue felt bowtie, a yellow velvet vest with a red felt button on it, and red velvet pants. He even has a long black felt tail attached in back! Mickey is 5.5" tall and he has thick bendable wires inside of his arms that enable them to be posed at will. Mickey is 100% free of damage and still retains his original manufacturer’s label, which is in great shape and sewn securely into the side of his left foot. He has a few small red marks on his right cheek that were resistant to a gentle attempt at cleaning, and a few small marks (not paint wear) on the back of his head. We are uncertain whether a more vigorous attempt would or would not be successful. In either event, these few small marks are Mickey’s only flaws, leaving him in near mint condition overall--nice and bright and colorful!

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) pencil holder/sharpener

  This is a 4.75" ceramic pencil holder that also doubles as a pencil sharpener.  It shows Mickey Mouse standing beside and holding onto the sides of a large wooden barrel.  The top of the barrel is hollow, enabling pencils (and such) to be stored inside of it.  In front, near the bottom, there is an embedded sharpener, enabling the item to serve double duty.  Mickey was manufactured by Enesco sometime during the 1950s as part of a larger collection of Walt Disney cartoon character sharpeners.  He retains his original gold-and-red foil manufacturer's sticker and bears the Walt Disney Productions copyright marking.  This item has no damage and very little wear, leaving it in NM+ condition.

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) ceramic musical

  This is a very attractive ceramic musical of Mickey Mouse, originally manufactured during the 1960s or 1970s.  It bears the Walt Disney Productions marking on the underside of the base.  When wound up, the musical turns in circles and plays "It's a Small World."  The turning mechanism and song mechanism both work well.  A pie-eyed Mickey is shown standing on a spot of dirt by a fence, holding a small bouquet of flowers.  This item's only flaw is a pinhead-sized chip in the ceramic on the underside of Mickey's nose. (This could be retouched easily with a spot of paint or a dab of a magic marker; but we'll let Mickey's new owner decide whether or not to do it.)   Overall, the item grades as being in near mint condition.  The musical is 6.5" tall.

COST = $70           BOXED WEIGHT: 3 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0199020

MICKEY MOUSE (Walt Disney) Spinikin

  This is a 4.25" plastic pull-string Spinikin toy, manufactured by Kohner Brothers during the 1960s.  The toy works by pulling the white ring on front and then releasing it, which causes Mickey Mouse to spin rapidly in circles.  Mickey is wearing a pointy yellow hat, a red collar around his neck, a green jumpsuit with red collar/ruffles, and yellow shoes with red trim.  He sits with his arms and legs stretched out to his sides as he balances on a large yellow ball.  Although he doesn't wear make-up to complete the image/impression, it appears that Kohner wanted this Mickey Mouse to look a bit like a circus clown.  The item works perfectly and is in near mint condition.   The original silver foil sticker is present, intact, and in great shape on the front of the Spinikin's base.  The item is free of damage and has just a few tiny specks of paint loss on the ball on which Mickey is balanced.
