TOM & JERRY (MGM) kaleidoscope

This nifty item is a metal kaleidoscope of Tom, Jerry, Spike, and Tyke from the MGM cartoons of the 1930s through the 1970s. The graphics on the kaleidoscope show Jerry sitting atop a white rocket aimed at a yellow crescent moon as Tom stands beside it with a lit match to send the rocket--and Jerry--into orbit. Just above Tom, there is another image of a parachuting Jerry about to be pounced upon by an unopened parachute-clad Tom. Behind the image of Tom that is holding the match, Spike is poised--angrily--with a green mallet, about to hit Tom over the head.. Behind the image of Tom that is wearing the parachute, Tyke is chasing after Tom, as if to bite him. The wider end of this telescope-shaped kaleidoscope is covered with a red plastic turning area, to change the kaleidoscopic images inside. This item was manufactured in 1973 in England by Green Monk. The kaleidoscope works just fine and is undamaged. There are a few shallow dents in the metal, but these are not noticeable very easily to the eye (primarily to the touch). There are a few small, light, and minor scratches in the paint on the litho, but these detract very little from the overall bright and colorful appearance of this item’s graphics. The eyepiece area has some minor scratching and very light rusting on it. Describing these flaws like this makes this item sound much worse than it really is, since its overall condition is EX or EX+.
