BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) gumball machine

  During the late 1960s or early 1970s, the Tarrson Company manufactured three plastic Looney Tunes gumball machines:  Porky Pig, the Road Runner, and this one of Bugs Bunny.   Bugs' face is made of clear plastic with painted-on white eyes and teeth.  His ears are hollowed-out grey plastic, and the gumball machine's base is yellow with a blue gumball slot and pink coin slot.  The closure for the gumball area is present on the back of Bugs' head, as is the closure for the bank area on the back of the yellow base.   The original plastic key is no longer present and is this item's only flaw.   It even comes complete with a full complement of gumballs!  From top to bottom, Bugs is about 9.5" tall.

BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) musical

b1100020.JPG (22078 bytes)  This is a very attractive ceramic musical of Bugs Bunny, who is shown running in front of a wooden fence dropping some of his armful of carrots on the ground around him.  When the metallic knob underneath the base is wound, the musical revolves and plays The Entertainer.  This musical stands 6.5" tall and was part of a series of Looney Tunes character musicals that Gorham manufactured in 1981.  This item works perfectly and has no damage anywhere on it.  It retains the original blue-and-silver foil manufacturer's sticker on the underside of the base and has only a few tiny spots of paint wear.  It is in NM+ condition.  PLEASE NOTE: Because of the fragile nature and odd shape of this item, insurance is strongly recommended with the purchase of this musical.

BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) hot water bottle

  This is a 17" figural rubber hot water bottle, showing Bugs Bunny sitting on a low tree stump.  He holds his left hand on his knee and is holding an uneaten carrot in his upwardly-bent right hand.  The original stopper is present underneath Bugs' feet.  This item is free of damage and the rubber remains soft and supple for the most part.  Some of the paint--especially the white paint--shows signs of crazing, and because of the way that Bugs was stored over the years, his right cheek has become slightly indented.  (This would restore to normal if he were kept filled with liquid, or if the affected area were stuffed with tissue paper, or if he were stored face-down for awhile, to allow the rubber to resume its original shape.)  Bugs also has minor paint wear on some of his raised areas.  Overall, this item is in EX- condition.  It was manufactured in Spain by Duarry sometime during the early 1970s.

b0399025.jpg (46589 bytes)  This metal turn-crank music maker was manufactured by Mattel in 1963 as part of a pair, the other being Porky Pig.  One side of the music maker shows Bugs Bunny's face against a bright reddish-pink background adorned with colored musical notes.  The other side shows Bugs from the waist up, strumming his own personal Bugs Bunny getar . . . which, coincidentally (?), Mattel also manufactured around the same time.  When the handle is turned, "Hail, Hail, the Gang's All Here" plays.  The music works just fine.  This item is 7.75" tall and 6" wide.  Overall, it is in VG condition.  There are several small scratches on the item, on both sides of it, and a few shallow dents.  The original black-and-white twined string carrying "handle" is present and firmly intact in the white side of the music maker.

BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) salt and pepper set

b0500061.jpg (24412 bytes)  This is a TOUGH pair of salt and pepper shakers to find.  It is the Bugs Bunny set, manufactured during the early 1970s, that  originally was sold along with Yosemite Sam and Sylvester counterparts.  These shakers are made of ceramic and stand 4.25" tall.  Both show a blue-eyed Bugs standing with his legs crossed around the knee, waving with his yellow-gloved left hand, and holding a maroon carrot upward in his right hand.  Both of these items are in great condition, with the salt shaker having just a trace of minor paint wear on his whiskers and the pepper shaker having a tiny speck of paint loss on the raised heel of Bugs' right foot.  There are no chips in the ceramic on either item, and both still have their original clear plastic plugs on the bottom.

  This is a 4.5" PVC figure showing Bugs Bunny standing atop a round, red pedestal.  He wears an orange birthday hat with blue polka dots and a red pompon on it, and holds a partially-eaten carrot in his left hand.  He is positioned so as to suggest that he is making a "side remark" to the recipient of the figure, and the black, block lettering caption on the front of the base says Another birthday and only one gray hare!  Wascally to the wast dwop!  This item was manufactured by Applause in 1994 as part of a larger collection of Looney Tunes character figures on pedestals (a few others of which are in stock at this time, too).  Bugs is in virtually perfect condition.

BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) pencil holder and sharpener

  This is a 5.75" composition pencil holder and sharpener of Bugs Bunny, manufactured in 1970 by Holiday Fair as part of a set of Looney Tunes figural pencil holders.  Bugs is shown eating a carrot with his right hand (gee, big shock, huh?!) and giving us a Peace! sign with his raised left arm.  The sharpener mechanism, which is usually missing whenever this item is found, remains in place.  The back of Bugs' head is hollowed out, and that is where the pencils are supposed to be inserted.  This item even retains its original generic black rubber stopper beneath Bugs' feet.  It has no damage anywhere on it and no cracks in the glaze.  Bugs is in NM to NM+ condition.

COST = $19           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0401001

BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) tricky trapeze

  During the 1960s, Kohner Brothers manufactured numerous push puppets and tricky trapeze toys featuring cartoon characters famous at that time.  This is the Bugs Bunny tricky trapeze toy, standing 5.25" tall.  It is made of plastic and features a blue-grey Bugs Bunny holding onto red trapeze bars.  When the yellow buttons on the side of the black base are pushed, Bugs flips and tumbles in the air over the bar.   The acrobatic action of this toy works perfectly.  There is minor paint wear on Bugs' feet and some edge wear on the upper right-hand portion of the foil manufacturer's label.  This item has no other wear or damage anywhere on it, leaving it in near mint condition overall.  What appears to be wear on the right side of the label is, in reality, the remnants of the original price sticker from the store where Bugs was sold when he was on the market 35 or so years ago.

BUGS BUNNY (Warner Brothers) "happy birthday" Goofy Gram

  During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the R. Dakin Company manufactured a series of "Goofy Gram" items featuring several of the Looney Tunes characters.  Each was mounted on a faux marble base with some type of saying on it, consistent with the character's appearance on that particular Goofy Gram.  This is the Bugs Bunny Goofy Gram, which shows Bugs wearing a small felt-covered plastic birthday hat and holding a party favor/streamer in his right hand.  This favor is made of felt and a feather, and is almost always missing when this item is found.  Here, though, it's not only present, but it's in great shape!  From top to bottom, this item stands 12" tall.   Bugs is jointed at the arms and legs, and his head swivels.  Bugs was made in 1971 and he's in NM condition, with just a few tiny areas of paint loss.
