BARNEY BEAR (MGM) squeak toy
This very rare find
is a 6.75" soft rubber squeak toy of Barney Bear. He is shown wearing
blue pants and is in a pose that has him with his left arm raised in the air and
his right leg bent back behind him. Although the original squeaker
mechanism remains in place, for some unknown reason, this item does not squeak
when squeezed. Paint loss is minimal and this item is in no worse than EX
condition. There is a very small area of roughness on the tip of Barney
Bear's raised thumb, but that is the only problem of consequence on the
item. It was manufactured by Alan Jay and, although undated, probably was
manufactured during the 1950s.

BARNEY BEAR (MGM) collector's glass

glass. He is orange in color with black hair, a white muzzle, a black
vest, and orange-and-white striped pants. The glass has white lettering
and a white Pepsi logo between the two images of Barney. The glass was
manufactured in 1975 as part of a set of MGM cartoon character glasses.
This one is in NM+ condition, with no damage and no loss of glossiness anywhere
on it.

BARNEY BEAR (MGM) cookie cutter
This is a
5.25" transparent red plastic cookie cutter of Barney Bear, who is shown

his handle showing through the reverse side of the cookie cutter. This
item was manufactured in 1956 and it has a Loew's Inc. copyright. It was
manufactured as part of a set that also included Droopy Dog, Jerry, and Dinky
Duck. Barney Bear is in VG condition, with some minor surface warping near

caveshirt with black stitching on it. When squeezed, Barney gives off a
loud, shrill, peeping sound. He is free of damage and has only minor wear,
leaving him in near mint condition. Barney Rubble was manufactured for
distribution on the European market, probably during the 1980s, and has no

plastic nightlight showing Barney Rubble with both arms on the sides of his
belly. He wears a brown caveshirt with black stitching. The
nightlight is in mint, unused condition and it remains sealed inside of its
original clear-plastic blisterpack and mounted on its original cardboard
mounting card. The mounting card is a bit darker in color than the
photograph indicates, and it has a nice image of Fred Flintstone pointing to
Barney. The mounting card is generally in nice condition, with one crease
near the top, another on the lower right-hand corner, and some minor corner
wear. The item was manufactured by Cable Electric Products Inc. in 1974
along with a Fred Flintstone counterpart.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl Dakin figure
Originally
manufactured by R. Dakin in 1970, this jointed vinyl Barney Rubble figure stands 7"
tall. It is one of two variations of this item that the Dakin Company made; the
other one is listed below. Barney is wearing a brown velvet cavesuit that can be
snapped on or off from the back. This item is in NM condition, with its only
"problem" being the absence of a small draw string at the top of the cavesuit.
His original Dakin tag is completely intact and in great shape, at the back of the
cavesuit.
COST = $52 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0298037
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl Dakin figure
This is the
larger of the two jointed vinyl figures that the R. Dakin Company made of Barney Rubble in
1970. This Barney stands 7.75" tall and comes complete with his original brown
velvet cavesuit. This item also retains its original black draw string for the
cavesuit, which is usually missing, and its original Dakin tag on the back of the
cavesuit. Overall, the item is in EX+ to NM- condition, with some spots (of unknown
origin) beneath Barney's right ear.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) PVC figure
This is a
1.75" PVC figure showing Barney Rubble standing on a red base. In his

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) soaky
This
is a 7.75" vinyl soaky of Barney Rubble, manufactured by Purex during the 1960s along
with Fred Flintstone, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, and Dino counterparts. (We have all but
Dino in stock at this time.) Barney has yellow painted-on hair and a brown caveshirt
with a yellow criss-cross tie across the chest. He stands atop a rock pile with his
arms resting by his sides. The red plastic screw-on cap is the original one that
came with this item. Barney is undamaged, but does have some small spots of paint
loss on his caveshirt and an area of lighter coloring there near his left arm.
Overall, this soaky is in EX condition.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) friction toy
This is a
3.75" friction toy of Barney Rubble, manufactured by Marx in 1962 as part
of a set that originally included Fred Flintstone, Wilma Flintstone, and
Dino. The blue, white, and grey mottled car is made of tin. Barney
is made of rubber or vinyl. When rolled on a hard, smooth surface, the
friction mechanism kicks in and "powers" the car, and this friction
mechanism works just fine. Barney is undamaged and he has very little
paint loss. With no rusting and just minor surface wear, he is in no worse
than near mint condition.
COST = $190 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 1104122
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) squeeze toy
This tough-to-find
item is a 4.25" rubber squeeze toy of Barney Rubble, who is shown smiling,
looking upward and to his left, with his left hand and index finger raised as if
to make a point. He has pale brown hair and a yellow caveshirt with black
stitching on it. Although his original squeaking mechanism is intact and
apparently undamaged, for some unknown reason, it merely wheezes rather than
squeaks now. Barney is free of damage but does have paint wear,
particularly on his caveshirt. Overall, he is in VG+ condition. We
have a few of his counterparts in stock at this time as well. These items
are not marked with copyright information and were probably made during the
1960s or 1970s for distribution on the Mexican and/or European markets.
Although they resemble the Bucky figures, these items come from a company that
marks its packages "Elizabeth" (which we know because we have one of
them, Huckleberry Hound, sealed inside of its original packaging!).
COST = $55 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 1101093
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) bisque figurine
This
is a 5.5" bisque figurine of Barney Rubble, originally manufactured and sold
exclusively in England. Barney is dated 1977 and still retains his original
copyright paper sticker on the underside of the figurine. Barney is shown standing
on a grassy area, with a leafy plant of some kind directly against the back of his legs
all the way up to the bottom of his brown cavesuit. He has yellow hair and light
orange-painted razor stubble. The figurine is in perfect condition. Barney has
a small dot on his nose, resulting from a careless brush stroke at the factory where he
was made. This is the only flaw on this difficult-to-find item.
COST = $42 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0299175
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl bank
This is a 6"
vinyl bank showing Barney Rubble standing with both arms by his sides atop a
grey slate rock base. He wears a brown caveshirt with black stitching and
is smiling nicely. The bank's coin slot is located on the back of Barney's
shirt and there is no easy or obvious way to remove money that is inserted into
the bank. This item was manufactured in 1994 along with Fred Flintstone,
Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, and Dino counterparts, but the copyright information does
not indicate who made it. The set consisted of those same characters in
banks and also as figures. We have some of the others in stock at this
time too, and this particular Barney is in mint condition.
COST = $14 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0504060

Flintstone counterpart.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) hand puppet
This is a 9.5"
hand puppet of Barney Rubble, shown the way he was mass produced in the early
years with green hair. The puppet has a vinyl head and a cloth body that
consists of a white felt collar, a red shirt, and mustard-colored
"hands" and chest area. Barney is undamaged but he does have one
mark along the right side of his face and some paint loss along the edges of his
green pointy hair. Overall, this item is in EX condition. It was
manufactured in 1961 by Knickerbocker and it retains its original manufacturer's
label.
COST = $25 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0605031
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) cloth & vinyl doll
This is a large
vintage-era doll of Barney Rubble--so large, in fact, that it took three separate scans on
my scanner to get the image you see above (that's the reason for the slight variations in
coloring--the item itself does not differ in color from section to section). Barney
was manufactured by Knickerbocker in 1960 or 1961 (1960 is marked on his head, 1961 is
marked on his tag). His body is made of a flesh-colored stuffed cloth; his
feet/shoes have hard bottoms so that he can stand and are covered with a tan version of
that same cloth. He wears a shaggy brown cavesuit that is decorated with two felt
patches, one yellow and one green. Barney's head is made of soft vinyl and he has
bright green hair . . . which is typical for many of the earliest collectibles released
for the Flintstones cartoon series. From head to toe, Barney measures
16.5". Overall, he's in EX or EX- condition. The vinyl and paint on the
vinyl are in very nice shape, with just a few small spots of missing paint along the high
points of the hair. The cavesuit is without damage, holes, or rips, but it does show
a fair amount of matting. Barney's cloth arms and legs are in fine shape, showing
faint signs of light soiling from handling over the years. Generally, this is a very
nice, very neat, and tough-to-find Flintstones collectible item.
COST = $100 BOXED WEIGHT: 4 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0698014
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) Christmas ornament

stock except for Wilma.) Barney has a felt-covered stuffed body and a vinyl head.
He wears his usual brown cavesuit with the black stitching by the neckline.
He has no damage or paint wear, and a single mark on his hair. This item is in NM+
condition.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl bank
This is a hard
vinyl bank showing Barney Rubble holding a bowling ball in his left hand as he holds his
right arm behind his back. The bank was manufactured in 1973 by Homecraft
Products. It is missing its original generic white plastic stopper, but otherwise is
in EX+ condition. There are a number of small spots of paint missing, but they are
all very small and do not detract from the nice, bright, shiny appearance of this item.
COST = $32 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 1298174
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) marionette
This is an
11.5" marionette of Barney Rubble, originally manufactured in 1962 by
Knickerbocker along with a Fred Flintstone counterpart. Barney is stuffed
with a fuzzy brown cavesuit, and he has a vinyl head showing him with green
hair. He retains his original strings and plectrum, although he leans
backward more than upright when it is held properly. This toy also retains
its original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and sewn securely
into Barney's right ankle. This item is in near mint condition, with minor
paint loss.
COST = $39 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0705138

Bamm on the sides, and shampoo instructions on the back. This item is in mint

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) cloth & vinyl doll
This is a very
rare cloth and vinyl doll of Barney Rubble, dating back to 1962. It resembles the
large (16-17") version Knickerbocker released a few years before, but this Barney has
a soft fuzzy cavesuit (whereas the older one has a shaggy cavesuit) and is shorter in size
(11.5"). This item is in amazing condition for its age, probably grading as NM
overall. The cavesuit is clean and soft. The arms and legs are clean and
bright, with only very light soiling from handling over the years. The vinyl on
Barney's face/head is soft and shows minor paint wear. Like all of the oldest
Flintstones-related items featuring Barney Rubble, this one has bright green hair.
The original Knickerbocker tag remains intact and is in great shape at the bottom of the
cavesuit.
COST = $79 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0198242
BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) rubber figure
This
is a 1.75" sturdy rubber figure of Barney Rubble, who is shown standing with both
arms resting by his sides, smiling happily. The figure is deep raspberry in color
and has black-painted features. The rubber is free of damage and paint wear is
minimal, confined primarily to the criss-cross "tie" on Barney's cavesuit.
It probably merits a condition grading of near mint. This item was
manufactured in 1987, but the copyright information does not indicate who made it.
We have one of Barney's counterparts (Dino) in stock at this time as well.
COST = $4 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0800098

to be a paper appliqué that has been affixed to a vinyl magnet. The mounting card
measures 7" tall by 4.25" wide. The item is in mint condition, having
never been removed from its clear-plastic blisterpack or cardboard mounting card.
The blisterpack is in perfect condition, and the only thing preventing the mounting card
from being in mint condition, too, is a small area of crinkling toward its bottom left
corner.
