BARNEY BEAR (MGM) squeak toy

  This very rare find is a 6.75" soft rubber squeak toy of Barney Bear.  He is shown wearing blue pants and is in a pose that has him with his left arm raised in the air and his right leg bent back behind him.  Although the original squeaker mechanism remains in place, for some unknown reason, this item does not squeak when squeezed.  Paint loss is minimal and this item is in no worse than EX condition.  There is a very small area of roughness on the tip of Barney Bear's raised thumb, but that is the only problem of consequence on the item.  It was manufactured by Alan Jay and, although undated, probably was manufactured during the 1950s.

BARNEY BEAR (MGM) collector's glass

BARNEY BEAR (MGM) cookie cutter

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl Dakin figure

  Originally manufactured by R. Dakin in 1970, this jointed vinyl Barney Rubble figure stands 7" tall.  It is one of two variations of this item that the Dakin Company made; the other one is listed below.  Barney is wearing a brown velvet cavesuit that can be snapped on or off from the back.  This item is in NM condition, with its only "problem" being the absence of a small draw string at the top of the cavesuit.   His original Dakin tag is completely intact and in great shape, at the back of the cavesuit.

COST = $52           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0298037

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl Dakin figure

Dakin Company made of Barney Rubble in 1970.  This Barney stands 7.75" tall and comes complete with his original brown velvet cavesuit.  This item also retains its original black draw string for the cavesuit, which is usually missing, and its original Dakin tag on the back of the cavesuit.  Overall, the item is in EX+ to NM- condition, with some spots (of unknown origin) beneath Barney's right ear.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) soaky

  This is a 7.75" vinyl soaky of Barney Rubble, manufactured by Purex during the 1960s along with Fred Flintstone, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, and Dino counterparts.  (We have all but Dino in stock at this time.)  Barney has yellow painted-on hair and a brown caveshirt with a yellow criss-cross tie across the chest.  He stands atop a rock pile with his arms resting by his sides.  The red plastic screw-on cap is the original one that came with this item.  Barney is undamaged, but does have some small spots of paint loss on his caveshirt and an area of lighter coloring there near his left arm.   Overall, this soaky is in EX condition.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) friction toy

  This is a 3.75" friction toy of Barney Rubble, manufactured by Marx in 1962 as part of a set that originally included Fred Flintstone, Wilma Flintstone, and Dino.  The blue, white, and grey mottled car is made of tin.  Barney is made of rubber or vinyl.  When rolled on a hard, smooth surface, the friction mechanism kicks in and "powers" the car, and this friction mechanism works just fine.  Barney is undamaged and he has very little paint loss.  With no rusting and just minor surface wear, he is in no worse than near mint condition.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) squeeze toy

  This tough-to-find item is a 4.25" rubber squeeze toy of Barney Rubble, who is shown smiling, looking upward and to his left, with his left hand and index finger raised as if to make a point.  He has pale brown hair and a yellow caveshirt with black stitching on it.  Although his original squeaking mechanism is intact and apparently undamaged, for some unknown reason, it merely wheezes rather than squeaks now.  Barney is free of damage but does have paint wear, particularly on his caveshirt.  Overall, he is in VG+ condition.  We have a few of his counterparts in stock at this time as well.  These items are not marked with copyright information and were probably made during the 1960s or 1970s for distribution on the Mexican and/or European markets.  Although they resemble the Bucky figures, these items come from a company that marks its packages "Elizabeth" (which we know because we have one of them, Huckleberry Hound, sealed inside of its original packaging!).

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) bisque figurine

  This is a 5.5" bisque figurine of Barney Rubble, originally manufactured and sold exclusively in England.  Barney is dated 1977 and still retains his original copyright paper sticker on the underside of the figurine.  Barney is shown standing on a grassy area, with a leafy plant of some kind directly against the back of his legs all the way up to the bottom of his brown cavesuit.  He has yellow hair and light orange-painted razor stubble.  The figurine is in perfect condition.  Barney has a small dot on his nose, resulting from a careless brush stroke at the factory where he was made.  This is the only flaw on this difficult-to-find item.

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) vinyl bank

COST = $25           BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS           ITEM NUMBER = 0605031

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) cloth & vinyl doll

  This is a large vintage-era doll of Barney Rubble--so large, in fact, that it took three separate scans on my scanner to get the image you see above (that's the reason for the slight variations in coloring--the item itself does not differ in color from section to section).  Barney was manufactured by Knickerbocker in 1960 or 1961 (1960 is marked on his head, 1961 is marked on his tag).  His body is made of a flesh-colored stuffed cloth; his feet/shoes have hard bottoms so that he can stand and are covered with a tan version of that same cloth.  He wears a shaggy brown cavesuit that is decorated with two felt patches, one yellow and one green.  Barney's head is made of soft vinyl and he has bright green hair . . . which is typical for many of the earliest collectibles released for the Flintstones cartoon series.  From head to toe, Barney measures 16.5".  Overall, he's in EX or EX- condition.  The vinyl and paint on the vinyl are in very nice shape, with just a few small spots of missing paint along the high points of the hair.  The cavesuit is without damage, holes, or rips, but it does show a fair amount of matting.  Barney's cloth arms and legs are in fine shape, showing faint signs of light soiling from handling over the years.  Generally, this is a very nice, very neat, and tough-to-find Flintstones collectible item.

COST = $100           BOXED WEIGHT: 4 POUNDS          ITEM NUMBER = 0698014

BARNEY RUBBLE (Flintstones / Hanna Barbera) cloth & vinyl doll

  This is a very rare cloth and vinyl doll of Barney Rubble, dating back to 1962.  It resembles the large (16-17") version Knickerbocker released a few years before, but this Barney has a soft fuzzy cavesuit (whereas the older one has a shaggy cavesuit) and is shorter in size (11.5").  This item is in amazing condition for its age, probably grading as NM overall.  The cavesuit is clean and soft.  The arms and legs are clean and bright, with only very light soiling from handling over the years.   The vinyl on Barney's face/head is soft and shows minor paint wear.  Like all of the oldest Flintstones-related items featuring Barney Rubble, this one has bright green hair.  The original Knickerbocker tag remains intact and is in great shape at the bottom of the cavesuit.
