SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) squeak toy
Here, we have a
5.75" vinyl squeak toy of Speedy Gonzales who is shown standing with his
arms by his sides, hands in his pockets. He wears a yellow sombrero, a red
neckerchief, a green shirt, and white shorts. When squeezed, this item
gives off a gentle, shrill squeaking sound. It was manufactured by Dakin
in 1976 as part of a set that also included Yosemite Sam, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester,
and Tweety (most of which are also in stock at this time, too). Speedy is
in NM+ condition, with no damage anywhere on him. What appears to be a nip
out of his sombrero is NOT damage at all. Rather, it is the way the item
was made, to give the sombrero some contour.

SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) posable doll
This 15" doll
of Speedy Gonzales is a very rare find! It has bendable, posable arms and
legs. Speedy wears a yellow felt sombrero that says Aariba on the
underside in black lettering. He also wears a red felt neckerchief, a
white cloth shirt, and white cloth pants. The doll is in NM+
condition. There is no indication anywhere on the item as to who made it,
and it probably dates to the 1960s. In all likelihood, this item was made
for distribution in the Central or South American market, and it is an extremely
tough item to find. Just how rare is it? Well, I (Hugh) have been a
Warner Brothers cartoon memorabilia collector for more than 23 years, and this
is only the second example of this doll that I have ever seen . . . the one in
my own collection, and now this one offered for sale. It is THAT rare!

SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) Goofy Gram
During
the early 1970s (1971 in this instance), Dakin manufactured two sets of Goofy Grams.
One set featured generic animals standing atop bases with appropriate sayings on
them; the other set featured Looney Tunes characters standing atop faux-marble bases with
sayings on them. We have several of these items in stock, including this one of
Speedy Gonzales. Speedy wears a floppy soft vinyl sombrero, a red cloth bandana, a
green cloth shirt, and white cloth pants. He has posable arms and a swiveling head.
His base says "Have a Speedy Recovery!" in black lettering.
This item is in nearly perfect condition, with some very minor wear on the black lettering
and a small folded-back area of the green felt protective covering on the underside of the
base being the item's only real flaws.
COST = $38 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0300020
SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) vinyl hand puppet
During
the late 1960s, this Speedy Gonzales all-vinyl hand puppet was part of a set that was
released as a premium giveaway with toothpaste. The other items in this set included
Wile E Coyote, Road Runner, Sylvester, Tweety, and Yosemite Sam. (We have the entire
set in stock at this time.) From top to bottom, Speedy measures 9". He
has a soft vinyl head and an all-white, thin vinyl body. Overall, this item is in
NM+ condition, with just a few tiny specks on the vinyl and no paint loss whatsoever.
The body of the hand puppet is wrinkled pretty significantly, but with proper
display and keeping, it will straighten out and retain a nicer appearance quite easily.
COST = $14 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 1198042
SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) firmly-stuffed doll
This unusual find
is a 14" heavy-duty, firmly-stuffed cloth doll of Speedy Gonzales, who is
shown standing with both arms extended sideways from his body. He has a
broad smile on his face, oversized, reinforced feet (that enable him to stand on
his own), and wears a light yellow sombrero, a white shirt, and white
shorts. This doll was manufactured by Mighty Star in 1971. Speedy's
sombrero has one very small hole on the top, where the reinforcing wire that
keeps its shape has worn a hole through the thin material of the hat. (The
wire is not damaged or "poking through" the material; but rather, it
has literally worn a hole in that area from rubbing against it over the
years.) Overall, this doll is in EX+ condition.

SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) soaky

manufactured by Colgate-Palmolive during the mid-1960s as part of a larger
collection of Looney Tunes character shampoo bottles. Speedy has no cracks
or damage anywhere on him. He has minor specks of paint loss on his cheeks
and on his left ear, and light smudging of his whiskers. Overall, this
item is in near mint condition.

Dave Grossman Designs in 1978 as part of a larger collection of Looney Tunes
character ornaments. (We have many of the other items from this set in
stock at this time, too.) Speedy Gonzales is in near mint condition condition,
with minor paint wear on his right leg and a smaller spot on his sombrero.
He

decanters. (We have some of the others in stock at this time, too.)
Speedy is still sealed and retains a portion of his original Amaretto (some of
which has evaporated through the cork closure over time). He is in mint
condition and retains all of his original importing labels.
COST = $32 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0304036
SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) large plastic doll
This
relatively-rare Speedy Gonzales figure/doll stands 12" tall. It is made of
hollow lightweight plastic. Speedy is wearing a grey sombrero, lavender felt
neckerchief, lavender felt shorts, and a green felt shirt. He has a black pompon for
a nose and all the rest of him is plastic. There is a small hole in the front of
Speedy's forehead, where his plastic hair locks used to be but now no longer are.
There is a crack in the plastic on the top of his sombrero, running a few inches along the
area where the sombrero meets the top of Speedy's head. He has no other problems or
flaws and, thus, is in VG+ to EX- condition overall. This item was manufactured as
part of a three-item Speedy Gonzales set sometime during the 1960s, with each figure/doll
being a different size. This particular Speedy Gonzales figure/doll from that set is
the SMALLEST one they made, with the largest being nearly double this one's size.
The manufacturer and year of production are not listed anywhere on this item.

SPEEDY GONZALES (Warner Brothers) jointed vinyl Dakin figure
During the later 1960s
and earlier 1970s (1970 in this particular instance), the R. Dakin Company released a
large series of jointed vinyl Looney Tunes figures, some with cloth clothing some with
clothing molded onto them as part of the figures. This is the Speedy Gonzales from
the set that has cloth clothing. (We also have several other Dakin figures in stock,
from both of these series.) Speedy is 8" tall. He has movable arms and
legs and a swiveling head. He is wearing his original red neckerchief, green cloth shirt,
and white cloth shorts. His manufacturer's label is present and in great shape, sewn
securely into the back of Speedy's shirt. Speedy also comes with his
original cardboard hang tag, which has some fading but is intact and a nice
addition to the figure. This item is in near mint condition, with
some light soiling on Speedy's pants and on the back of his sombrero.
COST = $30 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 0300003

SPIDERMAN (Marvel) action figure
In
1977, Mego manufactured several superhero action figure dolls. This is the Spiderman
doll from the larger set; we also have the Batman counterpart in stock at this time.
Spiderman is 12.5" tall. He is in mint condition and has never been
removed from his original box. The box is complete and undamaged, showing only
slight hints of minor edge and shelf wear. As vintage items go, they don't get any
nicer than this one!

retains the original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and sewn

SPLINTER (Woody Woodpecker / Walter Lantz) squeak toy
This
is a 5.25" vinyl squeak toy of Splinter, who is shown holding a red hand mirror in
her right hand as he holds her right arm akimbo at her hip. She has a pink bow in
her hair and a pink skirt. When her head is squeezed, she gives off a pretty hearty
squeaking sound. The copyright information does not indicate who manufactured this
item or when it was made, but it probably dates to the 1970s. It is free of damage
and has only slight paint wear, leaving it in NM to NM+ condition. It's a nice
example of a relatively rare squeak toy.
COST = $20 BOXED WEIGHT: <2 POUNDS ITEM NUMBER = 1100140
SPLINTER (Woody Woodpecker / Walter Lantz) bisque figurine
This is a
4.25" bisque figurine of Woody Woodpecker's niece, Splinter. She is

SPLINTER & KNOTHEAD (Woody Woodpecker / Walter Lantz) chalk wall plaques
This is a
rarely-found pair of chalk or plaster wall hangings of Woody Woodpecker's niece and
nephew, Splinter and Knothead. Both of them are mounted onto the cardboard box shown
in the picture, which is how they were originally sold. He is 5.5" tall and is
shown wearing a lime green bowtie. She is just under 5" tall and is shown with
a purple shirt collar and a black bow in her hair. No copyright information is
visible on these items, probably because it appears on the backs of the plaques in the
area that is affixed to the cardboard box. In all likelihood, they date to the
1960s. He is in mint condition. Unfortunately, she has not survived the years
equally well: At some point, her pony tail broke off and was reglued. The
regluing job is a neat one, but a few small crumbs of the chalk/plaster were too small to
reglue and no longer exist with the item, leaving a few very small chunks missing.
As a result, determining the condition of this item is difficult--one is in mint condition
and the other is in Fair condition, due to the damage and repair. However you would
choose to grade these wall plaques, they are attractive, bright, colorful, and quite
difficult to find.

licensed by Viacom.

SPOOKY (Casper / Harveytoons / Paramount) doll

eyes, and a red ribbon tied around his neck. This item was manufactured during the
1950s by Gund as part of its Gundikins series of vinyl-and-plush cartoon character dolls.
(We have several other Gundikins in stock at this time, too.) Spooky's vinyl
is in great shape and has only the slightest hint of paint wear on it. The plush is
completely undamaged and other than being a bit soiled from being played with over the
years, it is in very nice shape too. The original manufacturer's label is present
and readable, although it is frayed. Overall, this item is in NM- condition and
makes for a nice addition to any Casper or Gundikins doll collection.

This item was manufactured in 1971 as part of a set of similar cups/mugs, some of
which featured Hanna Barbera cartoon characters and some of which features Walt Disney
cartoon characters. The decal on this item is in nearly perfect condition, and the
cup/mug itself has only very faint surface scratches on it. It appears to have been
used rarely, if at all, over the course of its lifetime.

STANLEY LAUREL (Laurel & Hardy / Larry Harmon) bend-'em doll
During
the 1960s, Knickerbocker manufactured this item along with its counterpart, Oliver Hardy
(which we also have in stock at this time). They are Bend-'Em dolls, with vinyl
heads and cloth-covered bodies that have thick wires or thin metal bars in the arms and
legs that enable them to be bent and positioned at will. Stanley Laurel is 9"
tall. He is shown wearing a molded black bowler, a dark blue felt coat with a white
felt collar, a turquoise bowtie, yellow felt vest with turquoise felt buttons on it,
red-and-white striped cloth pants, and black felt shoes with yellow felt undersides.
He is shown with his eyes closed, looking rather sad. The original
manufacturer's label is present and in great shape, sewn securely into the back of
Stanley's coat. There is a small spot of paint loss on his hat; otherwise, the vinyl
is in great shape. All clothing is present and original and undamaged, although it
shows very light signs of soiling. The very tip of the bendable wire in Stanley's
right hand has broken through the cloth there. All other wires and metal bars are
securely inside of the item. Overall, this item is in EX+ condition. If you
decide to purchase Stanley and Ollie at the same time, we'll offer you a discounted price
of $88 for the pair.

was manufactured by Lakeside in 1967 as one in a large series of bendy figures that

the bendy wires are contained securely inside of the rubber. Stanley has several
small black marks on him, primarily on his rear side. They have been resistant to a
gentle cleaning on our part, so we are unsure whether or not they will come off with a
more vigorous cleaning on the item's new owner's part. With the marks, this item is
in EX condition. If they can be removed, this item will approach mint condition.

off-white (due to aging) shirt, and a brown (faded from deep green) suit.
This figure has no damage to it other than the discoloration of the shirt and
suit clothing. Overall, Stanley is in VG+ condition, downgraded almost
exclusively due to the fading of the suit and minor fading of the vinyl of the
face. He was manufactured in 1973 by Berman and Anderson. If you
