SMOKEY BEAR mug

This is a 3.5" ceramic mug showing Smokey Bear sitting on a log that rests on a grassy area.  He holds a shovel in his left hand and waves with his right hand, while looking off toward his left side.  The image of Smokey is provided in raised-relief on the side of the mug.  The mug is white in color with a green handle, and it has a black, block lettering caption stating Prevent forest fires!  This item is undamaged and it has no paint loss, leaving it in virtually perfect condition. The black marks beneath the caption were fired onto the item beneath the glaze when it was manufactured.  This item probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s and there is no indication anywhere on it as to who made it.

SMOKEY BEAR soaky -- large size

This is an 11" vinyl soaky of Smokey Bear, who is shown wearing a yellow forest ranger hat and blue pants.  In his left hand, he holds a shovel near the digging part; in his right hand, he holds a short wooden sign.  Originally, this sign probably had a paper label on it warning us to prevent forest fires.  If that is, indeed, the case, then that paper label is entirely worn off.  Since the base of the soaky bears this warning, though, it is also possible that the wooden placard never had any message on it.   This item was manufactured by Lander Company, probably during the 1970s.  It has minor paint wear on Smokey's pants and some surface wear on the glossy foil sticker on the base below Smokey's feet.  There are no chips, cracks, or breaks anywhere on the item.
